A chap has claimed on twitter: @StefanoDelfonzo: Watch this space VERY closely …. EDISON CAVANI TO SPURS IMMINENT #COYS #thfc #spurs #SpursNewArmour #footytransfers #fact He has also tweeted: @StefanoDelfonzo: David2004Laura mick McGovern who’s head scout at Chelsea told me today…in person! @StefanoDelfonzo: @dougpaddick Chelsea were trying to hijack the deal but according to this chap it’s pretty much sign, sealed and delivered! I’d call him a WUM but he seems a genuine Spurs fan, arguing with gooners etc and has tweeted as normal after making the claims..
If this is true I’ll eat both my hat and your hat, good sir. Having said that, if it is true, it would be a price I’d happily pay to have Cavani at the club.
Sweet baby jesus I hope that’s true. I’m going to assume it’s a paper bag full of BS, just to be on the safe side.
If this is true, I’d probably die of a heart attack or something. But I doubt it is sadly, especially considering we’ve more or less signed Adebayor Spurs target £80m rated striker Edinson Cavani – Football News – Football – Sport – People.co.uk Football | Barclays Premier League | Spurs ready for Cavani bid | ESPNSTAR.com Couple of links above, which if true shows we have been interested in him so you never know. I’m expecting him to be on 100k atleast a week wages but if this investment does happen we’ll be able to pay that. Why has he deleted his tweets?
I don’t really get why we’d sign Adebayor AND Cavani. If the "ludicrous" rumour was Falcao, I might bite just a tad only because I could see Falcao & Adebayor working well together and complimenting each other within our squad. Having 2 very similar strikers both on big bucks just doesn’t work
…and the ridiculous rumours are back. The Hulk ones were bad enough! Think everyone would absolutely love this to be true, but it’s not happening.
Actually, saying that, we will most likely be playing in a 4-3-3 formation and therefore have one Centre-Forward, could chuck Ade on the bench. But the point I’m making is we’d need a few Centre-Forwards to compliment our formation
The sillyness of silly season creeps through after all……though I would pay to see a negotiating session between Levy and De Laurentiis….It would be like an accountant negotiating with Chewbacca.
Napoli play a 5-2-3 actually. The front 3 are similar enough for your point to be valid though, I’m just a pedant!
i think he plays in the centre of the front 3, at least he does on fifa. in the unlikely case he does come, he can start on the left and interchange with ade throughout the game. i remember ade being pretty handy down the left during some games last season
Cavani would be an unreal signing. I think a partnership with Ade would be very dynamic as their styles compliment each other. Can see him making the move to the pl very soon but I always thought it would be for Chelsea/man city. But with lavezzi gone he may be looking elsewhere. Not beyond the realms of possibility
He plays in the middle for Napoli, with Lavezzi and Hamsik either side. He played on the left in the World Cup for Uruguay though. It’s a shame, because he’ll be doing neither for us haha.
Won’t we play 4-2-3-1 this season ? Ade will be #1 striker, we will probably buy some young(around 21) striker who can be #1 in 2 years( Leandro ?).
HOLY **** I literally called this like 4 weeks ago! I need to find that post so I can attain prophet status. I literally said we were going to sign Cavani none of this blue and yellow green purple ****.
Levy is now diving into pools of gold, much like Scrooge McDuck, so I can maybe see us bidding. The wages could potentially not be a problem either. However, I doubt Napoli will just give us Cavani for anything short of Modric money.
No chance. Seems like a wum or a kid trying to gain a few more followers. He has like 26 lol. Deleted tweets indicate to the fact it was bullshit too. If it was legit, he wouldn’t have deleted them regardless of doubters/criticism. Full on Boner mode if we did sign someone like him though.
As others have said, he plays central for Napoli but he can play right as well (particularly in the AVB system with the right-sided attacker cutting in centrally). He’s more versatile than most players you could get to play the #9 position well. But, yes, your point stands!
