Yeah an ITK mentioned this the other day...would fit the mold of the scoring winger we have been sniffing around for all summer. Good player but him and his pops are a pain in the back side, they love the lime light of glamour clubs. VdV presence might us help but its going to be a tough sell and tough deal for us to work out.

lol - Amazing transfer if it happens, VDV will play a huge part in it as well I would imagine, but it wont happen, all these ITK's seem to be messing with our heads lately.

Recent quotes from Robben, for what they're worth.

    Via ESPN.

    23.42:
Some quotes from Arjen Robben yesterday on reports he is the latest target for Anzhi Makhachkala: "Of course I've heard a lot lately about Anzhi, this is the team which has a lot of money, but at the moment I wouldn't like to talk about my future. I'm 27 and I'm satisfied with everything at Bayern, but in life anything can happen. Who knows? Someday I'll maybe sign to the Russian club."

We will be full of ex goons. Imagine if we won something with them.....That would be a real kick in the jacobs for woolwich wouldn't it.....!It would spell the end for Azza though IMO.

What a signing it would be, although i cant see us EVER affording robbens wages! We'd have a truely awesome team if it did happen and i definatley wouldnt rule out a big suprise from Levy. I dont see us being done with just Diarra and Adebayor! Everything does seem to point to us buying a winger/striker and i dont see us buying anybody for that position unless there world class and improve our first 11. Wonder how hulks feeling now Falcao has left? All gone quiete on that front

Azza would still have plenty of games imo, especially with Robbens non stop injuries

Robben's a lefty not a righty, so how would that affect Lennon directly?

It wouldnt directly, but it would definatly mean a change of tactics and most probably a 4-3-3 ish formation. Tbh i dont know why im even talking about this considering how unlikely it is to happen!

He's an inverted right winger. Instead of running down the right flank, he cuts inside.

I'd rather we steered clear if there's any truth in this. That's not to say I'd be dissapointed ofc, but with his injuries, a large fee and large wages it wouldn't be worth the gamble. Especially if it was to come at the expense of signing a striker.

    Agreed Liam10

If it happened it would be exciting in honesty, but he would represent a gamble. In the Prem he was a diver and a sicknote.

If we are genuinely in the hunt for an inverted winger why not just give Hulk a go.

About the same fee I would imagine and much much less in wages.

Not injury prone and got something to prove at the pinnacle of the game.

instead of concentrating on improving on the wing I really think that spurs should go for a more viable option like lebron James. He a good passer of the ball with an excellent shot, but his size and sheer physical presence in the box will give defenders nightmares.

So you're saying we should sign Lebron? He's not going to have much to do this season with the strike. :001_005:

    Lebron James...???

Why not bring in Usain Bolt while we're at it?

I really don't think we'll be signing Robben. If we're gonna shell out a massive fee and wages, I'm pretty sure that we'd spend it on a striker.

Usain Bolt would be a definite threat on the 100m.

but im more leaning towards rodelelga as he doesn't score goals and plays for wigan.

A plus to signing a player like robben, not mentioned yet I don't believe, is the status that he brings. I agree with many of the above posts that he is injury prone, high maintenance, expensive, a diver etc. (as P UNIT 1980 said Hulk may be a better signing) but Robben would also be a signing of even greater prestige than VDV. These sort of signings that give our club legitimacy in the eyes of other players and can lead to DL being able to get "world class" players to consider coming to Tottenham (e.g. Aguero last january, if he said yes we may be in CL right now).

That said this is all probably BS, frankly he is already on a bigger club getting PT and could easily find another bigger than us where he could feature regularly. Obviously he is far better than Lennon, but still I could see them both getting plenty of PT.

Hey guys stop messing around. If Theo Walcott can play for Arsenal, Usain Bolt can play for us.
