So after todays shocking performance i hope it does not effect our Premier League momentum. Hope VDV is fit for this one he loves ripping the arse to shreds. doing the double would be awsome and would shut up the cocky little shites. Im going for

    Friedel

    Walker
    Kaboul
    King
    BAE

    Bale
    VDV
    Modric
    Parker
    Lennon

Should be enough Arsenal are in shocking form and everyone is against Wenger now.

It really doesn't matter how poor Arsenal have been. It's a derby game, and they'll be well up for it.

Saying that though, with their injuries and terrible defence, we should be expecting a win in all honesty.

The team that played Newcastle will have to turn up mind, not the joke we saw today.

Form goes out of the window on derby day and they'll be fired up after their last 2 matches.

Confident that we can win, but I'd still take a draw tbh.

After today, Defoe can go straight to the bench.

I hope VDV is fit for this one.

    Walker--Kaboul----King-------BAE
    -------------Parker--------------
    Kranjcar-----Modric----------Bale
    --------Saha-----Adebayor------

VDV for Saha if he's fit but I don't think he'll be fit to start unfortunately. Lennon to come on second half to offer some more pace on the counter.

Despite Arsenal's weaknesses, I'd rather not go up there playing a 4-4-2...if VDV's unfit then it's got to be Niko behind Ade in a 4-4-1-1 for me.

Having said that, our comeback against them last season was started when we went 4-4-2, so meh, what the hell do I know...

    ------------Friedel------------
    Walker---Kaboul--King---Benny
    -------------Parker-----------
    Lennon--------Modric------Bale
    ---------Niko------------------
    ---------------Ade------------

Very similar to AJ's but with lennon in for saha and niko making up the 3rd man in the centre. I'd like to see us play to our strengths with lennon and bale hugging the touchlines and looking to get past there man and in behind their weak fullbacks. I would be tempted to play saha but i feel we would miss that extra man in the centre to drop in when defending and linking the midfield to attack. Niko is great in possesion and finding good form and fitness. Him luka and parker should boss their Song/Arteta/ramsey combo and song may even be forced to play cb which would weaken them further in our favour.

We need to play with a lot of pace, and move the ball quickly, i think the lineup above gives us that with the added option of VDV/saha/defoe forattacking options and livermore for a more defensive one. Massive match and one that we never want to lose nevermind the gap btween the 2 teams.

How many times have we had an opportunity see Niko play in the hole yet see another striker instead.

I dont expect him to play behind Ade if VDV isnt fit.

I hope so tooo, we all know how he has the ability to play as magical as he does in these big games. But in all honesty it would not bother me too much having him come off the bench on say the 60th min to inspire us and to sprinkle some of his fairy dust onto the team. Our wingers playing at there best will/can win this one for us im sure.

This is the big One!!! All form goes out of the window on derbies as said above.. Arsenal will be very fired up.. Don't go by today's performance to judge spurs.. It was a hard game pitch/ conditions etc. both teams had to play on it but I think we gave stevo too much respect..

Anyway back to arsenal.. Defoe can go to the bench. He was piss poor even though he got bad service.. Hope VDV is back for this one, with modric and we should be good for the win.. Ledley and kaboom back in the middle.. Adebayor up front..

Kind of glad we didn't go from Newcastle glory to the Arsenal game - would have hated a reality check from them next week. At least today our boys will have had their feet dragged back to earth and we will be back to heads down job to do - KILL.

Defoe definitely on the bench, and I hope Bale runs occasionally down the wing - I know he's trying to broaden his cv and all that, but there ain't no shame in doing what you are good at Mr Bale!

Any news on Benny - just did a google search and couldn't see anything.

With the right belief and and work ethic we should have 11 players that are good enough to win this game with or without BAE. Anyone checked his twittter?

I would like to see Kaboul/King in combo taking care of RvP, everywhere else we have more than enough.

I'm sure Harry will have everyone up for this and then again for United...if we can win both the title chase will be definitely back on as a serious possibility. Keep the faith COYS

I really hope VDV is fit his record against Arsenal is amazing. Hop Ade gets a goal, was loving the abuse he was getting on twitter so he will shut them up. I find it funny they are dreading us and they are playing at home. Im going 2-1 Ade and VDV to score and RVP to score. COYS!

They may well be but they will also be shitting the consequences of loosing. We dont need to win..................They most certainly do.

That pressure will play into our hands.

They loose to us and it is season over and just a matter of time before the press drag them through the mire and start comparing them to the invincibles and all that shit.

They cant win ANYTHING this season so bragging rights is the last glimmer of hope for their dismal season.

This game is so important to the players and the team and the pressure is all on them.

    Before anything on starting XI...

BAE has had a minor op on his groin.....Rose looked to have limped off with a calf today, who the fook would play LB if Benny doesnt make it? Bale I guess but such a waste there as our second best finisher after VdV!

Saw a post on the Stevenage thread - something about Harry mentioning BAE having an op?

He had his OP at the start of last week so I'd imagine if he's able to play he'll have to be training by Wednesday.

If we need to play someone at LB besides Bale, Walker has played there. Obviously not ideal b/c that would mean Kaboul being pulled out of CB and I dont know if that'd be the best move for the team.

I think Harry has said 'should be ok for next weekend'

I just have an awful feeling we will pay at some point of the season for having very little full back cover

What would your line up be mate if VDV isnt fit. You said you would like to see Defoe on the bench and dont expect to see Kranjcar so who would you start instead? Saha?
I think most would agree that if VDV is fit then he should start.
    Friedel
    Walker Kaboul King Ekotto
    Parker Modric
    Lennon Bale
    VDV Ade
If VDV isnt fit i would go 4 5 1 . Id like to risk playing Dfoe or Saha upfront but i think we would lose out in midfield as we did last time before Sandro came on. If sandro was fit he would start for me with Modric and Parker in the middle and Lennon and Bale out wide but unfortunately i dont think he is fit so id play Kranjcar. Livermore didnt impress me today at all as he gave the ball away far too much, but then to be fair many players had bad days.
    Friedel
    Walker Kaboul King Ekotto
    Parker Modric
    Lennon Kranjcar Bale
    Ade
That would be my line up without VDV. Livermore to come on with 20 mins or so left if we are winning, Defoe or Saha if we need goals. Id definitely start Lennon as he looked great in his short time today.
I expect us to win although id take a draw as we would still kepp 10 points distance between us. We are by far the better team now but form can go right out the window on derby days.
