Just drew a little formation which is an adaption of the Catenaccio formation. It looks like another 4-5-1 but the difference is having the two centrebacks one in front of the other. King can stay in defence while Kaboul can play a sweeper-type role. Parker can also defend in the middle too. As for attack, even though Catenaccio systems aren't used so much today because of it's 'negative, defensive, typically Italian' manner, there is still a capacity for attack. There would be Bale, Defoe, Adebayor, Modric and more importantly Van Der Vaart, who could have a more relaxed role (e.g. placed on the wing but able to cut inside on his left foot). Thoughts?
