I know I know people but I actually do.

I live in a little village outside Northallerton and next to a village in which Michael Dawson was brought up and his family still live.

Well anyway getting on with it. Michael is sitting down to sign a new deal in the next two weeks and next season he WILL be appointed new captain with Luka Modric as vice captain so take from that what you want.

I know this because I met his Parents in my local :)

It did take a few beers though ;)

Also they said that Michael expects a south American to join in the next 6 weeks and a "top European player". Gits would not say who :(

I will try and have a word with Michael when he cones ip here in the next two weeks when I play cricket with him.

Do with this what you want spursman18

Imo it is about time he was made club captain!!!

King is a good leader and a nice bloke and that, but for me dawson is are true captain.... Interesting against birmigham both king and dawson played and dawson was made captain nod ledders....... So fatboyyid you may be right!

It is happening. He has been told. Unofficially since the start of the season he has been captain but I was more interested about Luka as vice captain. Surely means something?

Great decision for captaincy. And Modric as well, he's not a true leader but deserves something, so vice captain is fitting.

On the transfer news, I am praying that by "Top European Player" he does not mean Scott Parker or Phil Neville :001_07:. And South American could mean a lot, does he mean Leandro (actually playing in South America) or Falcao, Cavani, Osvaldo etc.

That was my first thought. Our main player, linchpin now vice captain also who else would be vice captain though?

Well actually, I have an ITK too - and very well connected within the Spurs organisation. I've never bothered using him though.

Rivron I do actually live in this village but never met Michaels parents as I have never been out in their village until tonight. I have not played cricket with him before but my window cleaner plays in the pun team that he and his brother Andy play for.

Well he has on occasion worn the armband so I dont think much has changed, maybe just making things official with the title.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go.:001_302:
As for my (potential) ITK, he's a mate of mine of many years and has access to people in the organisation all the way up to Levy.

Thats really good news. Fully deserved for both Dawson and Modric. Maybe its the sort of thing that will let Modric know that he is essential for the future of the club.
If you do get to meet him Fatboyyid take a few snap of him ;) An autograph wouldn't go a miss :p

"Top European Player" please be Llorente, pleeaaseee!!
I have no clue as to who the SA could be though. Who has been the South American that has most strongly been linked with us?

Leandro Damiao, Falcao, Pablo Osvaldo..........Llorente isnt likely to come here anymore, if there was ever a chance of him coming here.

That was you who posted the link about Basque county and Llorente/Real Madrid? I thought you said in your post that it is unlikely that he'll move to real due to Spanish politics, but I read the link and it said Llorente doesn't mind the politics. If true, who could possibly be other targets for him?

As for the SA, I hope it's Falcao. Mannn, Falcao, Hazard, and Lukaku coming in would be mouth watering.

Yep I posted that link, I mean traditionally those 2 clubs do not do business with one another. If he doesnt mind the politics then thats ok but the chairman and owners may so they may have the final say. Yet over January in Marca (Real Madrid paper) it said that they had already agreed that Bilbao would sell him to Real in the summer so he may end up there. If he doesnt go there then I'm sure numerous clubs will be lining up to sign him, maybe a few Italian, maybe us but supposedly his brother (who is his agent) came over in December and didnt like the area surrounding Tottenham so that could be a factor in him not wanting to come here.

More than welcome dude.

It's wired how it happened though, I was talking to my window cleaner who told me who noticed my spurs shirt and informed me that Michael and Andy used to live in the next village across from me and they come back every summer and play in their pub cricket team.

So I decided yesterday that I would visit the pub and there were photos of the lads everywhere and when I commented on them and oldish couple piped up and we started talking.

I can not believe I lived so close to him without realising :(

Don't worry I won't become a stalker though ;)

great news, fatty. you could be a good spy. well done ;)
personally I think it will be sandro's teammate Leandro as I guess we weren't directly linked with any other players who STILL play in South America. And figures like Falcao, Hulk etc are considered to be european top-players as they play in Europe for some time already. So they might be concerned to the 2nd theme of your converstation.

I didn't mean to be cryptic though. Buggers were trying to protect their precious son :)

Hopefully I will get some time with Michael at the crease whilst hitting a six ;)
