this is certainly the most important thing. Aside from that good luck to all of our lads. We are lucky to have so many players with international experience. Playing against international players only helps one improve I would imagine. Maybe this break will give our guys a chance to have a bit of fun, and then come back and win some league games.....fingers crossed.

Just goes to show the quality we have now and for the future!
Would want any of our opposition for 4th to get injured, not major injuries but maybe keep them out for couple of weeks? Or is that bad?

Didn't anyone see the N. Ireland match, some really soft calls. The Serbians were diving all over the park.

Here's Rafa's goal from last night:

reminds me so much of his goal against Inter... Sneijder with the Modric jinking run and through ball, VDV peeling away from the defenders and pointing where he wants it...

ITV is showing the Brazil v Scotland game.

    Hutton starts, Sandro on bench.

Neymar just scored for Brazil, great goal. A player to watch.

But the pass that led to that goal was Hutton's fault, he pushed too far forward and got caught out.

Heard loads about Neymar, and first time I've been able to watch him properly. A different class.

Shame he doesn't play for Internacional!

Mpoku played 85 minutes in the Belgian u19 team. They've won 2-1 against Germany.
He played an important part by giving the assist for Belgian's first goal.

Ahh well...never expected to win really. A bit lucky that it wasn't more than two. Worthwhile exercise I suppose, testing ourselves against the best as opposed to playing shite like the Faroe Islands all the time.

First time Alan Hutton's lost at the Emirates!

Could the same be said for Sandro ;)

TBH, it was a good game. Could definitely see why we were in for Charlie Adam.

Neymar is absolute class. For once ITV's ritual wankfest was entirely justified.

I don't know if that Charlie Adam thing was sarcasm or not?

He was dreadful. Gave the ball away more than anyone on the pitch, just looked like he was pushing everything he did too hard. He's a good player, but not today, not by a long shot.

Totally agree. I like Charlie Adams but thought he was hopeless today.
Brazil have some tasty young players.......err, didn't mean that the way it sounds.

VdV has played the last games for us in a central midfielder - role alongside last game with De Jong and against Sweden with vBommel. I think he's absolute class at that spot. He builds up every attack, feeds Sneijder, vPersie, Affelay all the time, while De Jong does most defence-work. He has a fantastic cross and an magnificent vision. My opinion is that he lacks a bit of speed and explosivity for attacking midfielder, one thing Sneijder is more capable of.
I know at Spurs we play a different system, and we have enough good midfielders. But I would like to see a line-up at Spurs where vdv is playing alongside Sandro/Hudd with maybe Modric in his old role as AM behind the striker.
    What is your opinion guys?

If we had a competent forward I wouldn't mind us playing a 4-3-3. Some combination of VDV, Modric, Hudd, Sandro in the center of the park. As it stands right now we need VDV playing off a striker.

The reason that VDV plays behind the striker for us right now is modric isn't nearly as good a finishing as VDV is. They are both very capable of building the attack and feeding our strikers and wingers. As BlueCrew said if we had a competant striker a 4-3-3 would be the way to go. Isn't that what Le Arse play......ah we have more style.

Chelsea have been persuing him for years. If he goes anywhere in England, he goes there. He even has David Luiz to keep him company.
