It's complicated. The Dodgers are bankrupt because of one man. It's not the same situation as Premiership clubs spending above their means. Once again it's complicated but all of this is good news for fans because it will put control of the team in MLB hands so they can force a sale. The bankruptcy was by design, the commissioner knew what would happen when he denied McCourts TV contract. It was the only "legal" way he could take control of the franchise.

    The Dodgers will be fine.

One more thing that broke bastard should have never been allowed to by the Dodgers. This is all Selig's fault and now finally he's cleaning up the mess he had a key role in creating. When the Dodgers went up for sale he intentionally accepted the low bid because they were the "McCourt Family". He has this obsession with fostering a "family" dare I say "conservative" atmosphere to ownership rather then accepting the best bid. He should have let Cuban by the Dodgers but he was afraid they would turn into a West Coast version of the Yankees. By that meaning spending massive amounts on players every off-season. Also some of the old boys club that is MLB ownership didn't want him in their number. Personally, I don't give a damn who the owner is as long as he A) Loves the team and B) Runs it properly, all that other stuff is extra. The Dodgers are one of the most historically significant teams in America. Bud Selig should be ashamed of his part in their current situation.

    Go Blue.....

Perhaps the Dodgers should go back to their real home.:001_302:

It's like when I take the piss out of my stepson, who is a rabid Colts fan, by reminding him that I still regard them as Baltimore's team.

Nobody wants to go back to Brooklyn.

They've been in LA longer then they were ever in Brooklyn. Alos most of what we've won has been in LA. So there....

It's alright they have another team to get behind.

Hee hee, give me the choice between a bombastic Puerto Rican honey from 'Jooorsey' and a gal from CA, I know which one I'd go for.:001_302:

Mind you, having said that, if you could transplant the head from the gal on the right to the body of the gal on the left, I'd be happy as a clam.

An update and this is comical.....

I just had a talk with my buddy who's involved with the whole McCourt v MLB case. He says the club are negotiating are trying to negotiate a settlement in which McCourt relinquishes control of the team and the team is put up for auction. The MLB and McCourt are arguing at the moment over the terms. McCourt wants guarantees that MLB won't sell the team for less then 1 billion dollars and the MLB won't make any assurances. I think if it's sold right now it would go for around $900m. Get this though, McCourt needs the team to be sold for 1 billion dollars or else he won't break even! Unbelievable, it's incredible that this terrible businessmen was allowed to buy one of the most historic franchises in American sports. He bought the team for $400m, can sell the team for $900m and would still make a loss? LMAO!

It's amazing how much everyone hates on LA.

Los Angeles > Brooklyn and they knew it in the 50's, get with the program.

I have noticed people in the US who live outside of California and New York hate those two places the most. Mainly because NYC has wall street and California has hollywood. But each state/city has something to poke fun at IMO.

So other states envy the pretty much bankrupt state of California? Also envy the heavily policed state of NY?;)....I think we got carried away:p.

We definitely don't envy Texas which is basically one big suburb with little to no culture outside of Austin.

Also after the recession, the jobs people want will still be in California. I'm not interested in the minimum wage defectors. California if ceded is still top 10 in the world in GDP, one of the most diversified infrastructures on the planet. Leaving California for Texas is analogous to people leaving the US for Canada because they think it has a better economic future. Part of California's problem is that their hard earned cash goes to subsidize states in the center of the country, New York included. None of the states in Middle America would be self sustainable with out the revenue generated in California or New York, which gets distributed federally. Your welcome.

    Touche!!!! LMAO!!!

That's what I like about you Javi you can roll with the punches.

TBF though 70% of my work is in LA. If I can take my job permanently to SoCal I would. We're here for a myriad of reasons, one being we host a lot of international clients. Vegas does half the work when trying to close the deal.
