does anyone know where all the spurs fans are meeting before the game as got all fights booked!!
Some are saying Plaza Mayor Plaza Mayor, Madrid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This is a huge square and looks like the logical place. The early morning coaches are arriving at an Irish pub called James Joyce. The James Joyce Irish Pub Bar Madrid Spain, LIVE Football, Rugby, GAA, NFL, NBA, Golf, Pub Food
Im going out with the thomas cook day trip on my own, sister cant afford it! so im meeting her ex bf there instead hehe. Im sure he will find a decent place for a beverage. But he might turn up mid afternoon! As long as the beers are flowing at any of these places and the party is in full swing lets have it!
It truly pains me to read this thread.
You lucky bunch of fookers!
Plaza Mayor is a bit different to Duomo. Loads of little bars and restaurants in the back streets. We're staying about five minutes away so will no doubt be there or thereabouts from early afternoon.
The James Joyce is about twenty minutes walk from Plaza Mayor. I think the pub itself is quite near the big park in Madrid. Can't remember the name!
Madrid is a fantastic city. There'll be loads of places to go drinking and eating, and with the number of Spurs fans travelling out, I don't think there'll be much of a problem stumbling upon a load of fellow supporters!
Plaza mayor looks like the ideal spot, from google earth anyway, providing the weather is sunny that is unlike AC Milan. Google reckon that it will take around 20 mins to get to the stadium using public transport. The james joyce bar is closer to the stadium and is at the top end (north) of the massive park, only question about this is how big is the pub/bar?? bare in mind were talking thousands of spurs out there. Anyway keep me updated as to where the meeting point is most likely to be, hope to see you there. COYS
Please sing something loud against our President Mr.Zapatero and the Socialist Party fascist crooks while you are in Madrid if you don't mind. It will be remarkable and you'll show up in all the Spanish media.
Sing what about them and why??
Just call them all West Ham fans, thats pretty embarrassing.
Or just sing Mr.Zapatero you look like Mr.Bean (see ht tp://goo.gl/nq7F1) for instance. :001_302:
Whats the reason for you wanting us to sing about them though? What have Madrid got against him or them
The James Joyce? What a great idea, travel to Madrid to drink in an Irish pub! Think I'd rather take my chances with the Real ultras in their boozers than do that!
I think the idea of the Irish bar is because they have English sports channels. I doubt if there are any Irish there as I'm sure it's an irish bar for tourist reasons. Irish, welsh, aussie! As long it's full of singing spurs fans, I couldn't care less!
Plaza mayor square looks like a good spot, can get alot of yids in and around there and should be a great atmosphere! im arriving monday morning and staying in madrid until wed. COYS
Plaza Mayor and James Joyce Irish pub are the places for us - see you there!
Search you tube for Liverpool fans plaza mayor, we will have twice as many and be 10 times louder! That square will be brilliant!
Getting dropped with the club official coaches at 11am at 'Paseo de Camoens' which i saw is about 25 min walk to the plaza mayor. So see some of you there for a pint of cervaza!
Well i herd that the James joyce bar will be putting on good deals the day of the game, buy one drink get one free. i wonder is spanish beer cheaper then the beer in milan:001_302:. On a another note i cant wait to be amoung 10,000 spurs fans at Plaza Mayor the day of the game singing on the top of our voices :y6:.
Yeah I herd something similar. That is near the stadium aswel, just going to go with the flow! The plaza is going to be mental, cant wait
Can't wait to see you all out there! The square sounds like the ideal place!
Hiya, mike from Madrid Yids here...lived here in Madrid 20 years...The Joyce is ok... better in my view is Moores pub in plaza Barcelo, Metro Tribunal....it has a direct metro line to the ground (about 10-15 mins) the Joyce is not near any metro station.
if I were you I'd spend the day in the center ...plaza mayor etc...then head up to Plaza barcelo (metro Tribunal, line 1,light blue line, two stops north from Sol) and moores pub for a drink before the game then take line 10 (dark blue from Tribunal) straight to the ground. With all the fans it'll take you longer than 20 mins from plaza mayor....see ya there....M. Madrid Yids.
any english spurs fans worrying about getting a hard time in joyces bar need not worry, its about as irish as yidno1s under crackers lol, that said any yids wreaking it and ill hunt them down and bate them with my harp ha ha,fingers crossed we have a chance in the home leg so unit and me can have a good night ,yiddos
My old man lives in Valencia.. flying there tomorrow early doors then decking out his range rover with scarfs, flags, chas n dave through the speakers then 3/4hr drive to Madrid and planning to drive straight into the Square to get this party started. YIDS
Plaza mayor is where i'm going! fly out tommorow morning at 06:00. COYS
I used to live in Valencia ( Port Saplaya ) and it takes about 4 hours , but you should allow for more .
A little bit of what you'll find at the Bernabéu Hell.
What ..., a half empty stadium ???????
There's something wrong with you for even noticing that
Lol :y16: I think it's fully booked and will be crowded. But don't be surprised if you notice a cold ambiance. The Bernabeu is probably the coldest stadium in the world. Everyone is silent and usually only the ultras at the south end sing or say something. Most people are silent and very critical if the team doesn't play well.
Now, usually this can be different for important games, specially Champions League games, and it can get very hot.
But in an ordinary match, it can be silent as a museum and cold as the north pole. Madrid supporters expect the team to play great every day and are overcritical otherwise. Tremendous pressure and criticism on the players that has been debated forever among fans.
