Inter have a couple of important players out tomorrow. Hopefully we jump on them quick and get the fans out of the game. After the way Lamela played on Saturday in such a short time I feel like he has to start. I'm also hoping to see Gazzaniga after Vorm's poor showing... and for god's sale Poch, give us the 4-2-3-1

    Gazzaniga
    Trips-Toby-Jan-Rose
    Dier-Dembele
    Eriksen-Lucas-Lamela
    Kane

The only time I have seen Gazzaniga play he was excellent, so I hope he gets a chance.

I am sure Vorm will play. Davies will play LB unless he’s injured. I’m guessing Aurier at RB but we’ll see.

Midfield is tough because it’s a lot to ask of Dembele to start again, but I bet he does.

Would love to see Lamela start if his fitness allows for it.

Also: TNT taking over the rights to the CL in the US blows. With Fox I could count on seeing Spurs on FS1 or FS2. TNT is showing a different game and Spurs is being shown on Galavision (???) which I don’t get.

Inter are playing very poorly right now and lost on the weekend against promoted Parma. Icardi is struggling like Kane where he cant get anything going and their midfield cant get on the same page.

No better time to be playing them IMO.

Tottenham Boss Mauricio Pochettino Rants About Cows And Trains In Bizarre Speech Ahead Of Inter Milan Clash
    [IMG]By starspostSep 17, 2018, 18:32 pm0

TOTTENHAM boss Mauricio Pochettino bizarrely went on a rant about cows and trains in an eyebrow-raising speech ahead of Tuesday’s Inter Milan clash.

The Spurs boss, 46, was speaking about the importance of experience in the Champions League ahead of the group stage opener.

EPA Mauricio Pochettino went off on a bizarre rant ahead of Inter vs Tottenham

The Premier League side are currently training at the San Siro ahead of the 2018-19 campaign’s kick-off.

Speaking ahead of the game, Poch bizarrely said: “It’s like a cow that every single day during ten years, sees the train crossing in the front at the same time.

“And if you ask the cow what time is the train going to come, it’s not going have the right answer.

    “In football it’s the same.”

AFP Tottenham are currently training for their clash against Inter Milan

EPA Mauricio Pochettino seemed to be speaking about the importance of experience

Pochettino continued: “Experience, yes, of course experience [matters]. But hunger, motivation, circumstance, everything, is so important.

“Many things in football are so important. We use too much talk of, ‘the experience is going to help next season’.

“Yes of course, if you show the same hunger, the same own motivation, if you fight in the same way.

“Many things have to be in the same way. If not, only with experience, you don’t win games.”

    What the .....o_O :D

Champions league is what it's all about, it's a huge game and Poch has left 2 of our key players out the squad completely...sorry, but that s not a conspiracy theory by any stretch.

If they were nursing injuries or there was a genuine reason Poch would have said so. Instead he cites "technical reasons" and won't elaborate. Then launches into some rant about cows. There s clearly unrest in our camp at the moment,it's about as clear as mud. And why shouldn't the players and staff be unhappy after consecutive defeats? We have looked terrible in those games and all of a sudden that United win seems ages ago

Good god, whats next for the club, playing Kane in the League cup?

I think he probably meant tactical reasons. Technical/tactical. They don't appear that different to a non native English speaker. As for leaving Trippier and Toby home, why not? We have more than just eleven players. Why play them on two days rest when we have others that are fresh? You may question it, but it's certainly not crazy.

Great way to encourage Alderweireld to sign a new contract, by leaving him out of the biggest game of the season so far...

Even Poch's command of the English language isn't that bad for him to confuse the two words.

I think both of the players would have been up for rotation as neither Sanchez or Aurier played the last two games and were due to play this match no matter the form of Toby and Trippier. There will probably be backlash if we lose in regards to Toby's omission, but he is still a player that hasn't signed up on a new contract and we have on of the biggest CB talents in the world that needs to play and I would make that same call 9/10 times.

Poch rotates his fullbacks/wingbacks, especially when the games are Saturday/Tuesday. Trippier started vs Liverpool. That means Aurier starts vs Inter. I don't see what the issue is. If the problem is "Oh my God! Aurier is on the pitch!" then the solution is to sell him and replace him with someone acceptable. If this also means KPW makes the bench (playing RB) then I'm ok with it. The kid needs minutes.

Toby to me seems tactical. If we don't do a back 3 then we cannot play Toby and Sanchez simultaneously because like hell we sit Jan. That means rotation, especially considering Sanchez hasn't played in a couple weeks. It seems to me Poch is starting Toby recently to convince him to re-up his contract. Still, even if I was going to play Sanchez I would have put Toby on the bench. Can you imagine the looks on the Inter fans when we make a sub and put Toby on? That means Foyth makes the bench then? Incidentally, I like the idea of starting some games with a back 3, then sub one out mid-game to put in an attacking midfielder to put the other team to the sword.

I'm not sure who our alternatives are considering injuries, but I kind of hope Dembele doesn't start. He hasn't looked as imperious as usual lately. Perhaps he needs a break.

That's a good line up. Probably the best we can do today, but I bet Dier starts.

    Dier in for Wanyama's spot?

I just need the 4-2-3-1 badly.
