So, after 2 uninspiring draws in the Prem, is it to be the kids all round?

    I think so.

dont think so ... poch will want to get them scoring confidence back , keeping them out will accomplish nothing , if we can trance or score against poll ... thatll get them back on track

Liverpool is fantastic going forward but they are no where near as good in the back. I believe we can punish them if we can control the flow of the game. Midfield is key as usual. Also I've started to sense that our lads are much more on their toes when facing better opponents. We were fired up against City and I can see a similar scenario against Liverpool.

    Would rather not rotate wholesale.

Klopp has no real need to rest players and besides the fact I want us to progress, I think we need to re-discover a) our scoring boots, b) a bit of rhythm/momentum and c) some cutting edge. I also don't think letting Livepool's A team spank our B-team will do much for the spirit of the individuals involved.

(In particular I think Walker plays as we'll need pace & energy for recovery on BOTH flanks).

    Lloris
    Walker / TA(?) / Vert / Rose
    Dier / Dembele
    GKN / Dele / Son
    Jansen

    Sub: Vorm / Winks / Wimmer / Trippier / Davies / Eriksen / Lamela

    - If still no TA then ED @ CB + no rest for Don Victor.
    - Worrying/notably no Sissoko on my Bench... Even in the League Cup... Dunno what he does tbh.
    - Puts a lot of creative emphasis on Moussa & Dele, but Eriksen & Lamela have been pretty un-influential on that front the last few games anyway.

I'm not going to call this one cos rotation is the name of the game for both sides.
My guess at our team to start.

    ............................................Lloris

    Trippier.................Dier......................Vertonghen..................Davies

    ..........................Wanyama....................Dembele

    ...........Edwards..................Onomah.........................N'Koudou

    ............................................Janssen

I know many are against whole sale change's but with so many big games coming up I don't think we have much choice.
With a solid defensive base behind them this match is a chance to have a good look at some of our up & coming academy lads & fingers crossed for Janssen to score a fcuking goal!!!

    Vorm
    Trippier Carter-Vickers Wimmer Davies
    Dier
    Sissoko Onomah Winks N'Koudou
    Janssen

No point playing anybody important aside from Dier (as he hasn't had much football this season). The players were knackered at Bournemouth and a 4th away game in a row will kill them. It's a game that neither us or Liverpool will take that seriously. We should select the same type of XI that we did against Gillingham.

Liverpool will absolutely take it seriously.

They have no europe and, like us, would kill for a trophy at this juncture.

I honestly wouldn't even risk Dier in this match. We have quality, professional players on our bench and on the fringes of our squad, plus some talent in the U23s. Perfect time to get them some experience in a hostile environment against a top team.

Yep, that's definitely what Klopp did last season and they were playing in the Europa League at the time. We better prepare for a very decent Liverpool side on Tuesday.

Totally with you. Though ahead of the back four there could be several variations. There's a good chance that Sissoko won't play so maybe we'll see Edwards.

TBH I don't care if they do take this seriously. Playing anyone that played Saturday on Tuesday would not be "clever" as Pochettino says. They weren't even up for it on Saturday so they won't be up for it on Tuesday after just two days rest.

I would like to see Harrison start, but don't know how he is after his injury

    So basically I agree with

    Vorm
    Trippier CCV Wimmer Davies
    Dier Winks
    Sissoko Onomah GNK
    Janssen.

With Harrison on the bench, he could play as striker or 'wide attacker'.

Dunno if its your intention but that team is basically throwing the game. Not that i think you're wrong in anyway, as quite a few arent really bothered about the League Cup but i dont think we can afford a heavy beating. So i'd go much stronger than that.

Poch has hinted he will play kids, and Klopp has plays almost full force in the last round against Derby.

So in 13 days, we are going to face Liverpool (A), Leicester (H), Leverkusen (H), Arsenal (A). We got an easier fixture to not screw up against WBA and Bournemouth and we blew it. It would be absolutely amazing if we can win these 4 matches, but as far as i concern, it is unlikely.
Poch will definitely played a lot of kids here, Onomah, Winks, Vorm definitely starting.

    Let's just enjoy.

To me it's vital that Son is given some much needed rest. The poor guy is knackered. I wouldn't even ask him to travel, just stay in London, sleep, train and recuperate.

With Leicester having a full week off to prepare, it's vital our strongest 11 stay at home, Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Rose, Wanyama, Eriksen, Alli, Dembele & Son have to stay behind, I'm happy for Dier, Lamela & Janssen to travel as they haven't played as much as the rest, the keeper & defence picks itself (Vorm, Trippier, CCV, Wimmer & Davies) with Sissoko being suspended midfield could prove a problem, (Winks, Onomah, Dier GNK & Lamela maybe, with Janssen upfront ???

Fingers crossed we put in a good performance, however let's see the team first ??

Would be nice and deserved if Vorm starts. He was pretty good and solid during Hugo's injury earlier this season.

I guess I will go ahead and help Poch with a lineup.

    ----------------------Vorm----------------------
    Trippier----CCV--------Wimmer---Davies
    --------------Winks--------Dier----------------
    Lamela-----------Onomah--------Nkoudou
    ---------------------Janssen-------------------

I honestly don't care who Liverpool put out there, as there club is a bunch of crap who don't even have European football. Delusional scouser bastards imo. The players above are all professionals who deserve playing time. Think this side is good enough to give them a game and maybe grab a result.
