LLORNTE I COULD KISS YOu
One decent ball in for Llorente please.
I'm saving myself for Gazzaniga
Winks quietly having a fantastic game. Too bad he doesn't play striker.
So you're saying we can win the group.
Some goals are so infuriating you hate to celebrate them.
The coach looks p*ssed off lol
WE FINALLY CATCH A BREAK
He was excellent.
That’s bad actually. We needed them to lose. Makes a hard road harder.
So Barca tied? Is it all over for us?
Bad joke. I realize we just went from frying pan to fire.
Soooo... we finally win a game we deserved to win!
We can but we have to win and we need PSV to tie or beat inter
Kinda feel sorry for PSV. They spent 88 minutes desperately defending against a better team only to fall short at the end.
Ok. Moment is over. Damn that was annoying, when you are walking all around them but the ball always seems to go straight at a defender/keeper. The better team won and we are still alive in the CL. That's all that matters.
Inter drawing Barca will most likely require us to also at least get a point against Barca. Even if we beat Inter and secure the tie brweaker we'll still be level on points at 7. So we'd have to match whatever they do to PSV to get out of group. But first things first. Time for revenge on Inter.
I think Poch needs to consider playing Llorente in those games where teams park the bus. He really made a difference
Well at least we aren't embarrassingly out after only 4 games.
Well deserved result, dominated the chances, and finally got a bit of luck at the end. It ain't rocket science though, get quality in the box, and you get rewards. Generally, the balls in from out wide were fckn dreadful. Gazzaniga though definite no.2 now, did well tonight, when called upon.
Very strange decision with Moura. How he came off before Sonny, was bizarre. I could only think Poch didn't want to upset him further, after his subbing at Wolves.
Bad result at Inter, still need a miracle, but at least we're still in it.........COYS!!
Is this facetious or truthful? Didnt see the game so unsure.
It's practicing with those damn small nets! Actually I think there is a real thing where the ball goes where the eyes look, and players tend look at the goalie. Then the ball goes there. It has to be, because there are a phenomenal number of shots that go straight at the keeper, and not just ours, but in all of football. A keeper takes up maybe 5% of the goal and about half of all shots go straight at them.
Llorente and Kane did, in fact, look good together.
I think the decision was pre-determined since Moura has really been racking up the minutes recently and Son was subbed during Wolves seemingly to be able to play out this game. Just my opinion because I am sure Poch was seeing how effective Moura's dribbling was against them.
He did all you could ask of him to do considering the short amount of time he had to work with. Just having him on the field and in the box meant that the two CBs could not front and back Kane like they were. No coincidence that Kane started winning aerials when Llorente came on: the first goal he out jumps one defender and Llorente lays off a short pass back to Kane for the finish; the second goal Kane is again only marked by 1 defender and is able to get a header towards goal that takes two deflections and finds its way in the net.
Considering how every defense in Europe has done this same tactic against Harry, it is definitely worth another punt. Not to slate any of our attacking players, but it seems they are having difficulty pinning the ball to Kane considering how many defenders find themselves back before we enter the final third. It's a simpleton tactic (maybe even desperate), but it worked today.
Truth. We were just lumping the ball in the box for a solid 30 mins. Had he been on earlier it might have been more comfortable.
Different sport, but when I played lacrosse (through college / university) we were coached to never look straight at the goalie when shooting. Pick your spot with your eyes and the ball will follow
Biggest change that helped us was Moura coming off. I like him as a player but I feel that he occupies space that Kane/Alli normally get into and therefore when all 3 are on its difficult for the latter two to get into space to have chances for themselves
And let's also remember that Llorente held the ball up for Kane's first. Very shortly after coming on. The subs paid dividends immediately!
yeah, however Llorente isnt the solution to our problems
