This meaningless game should be a fun one to watch. We should see a VERY different squad from tip to tail -- I hope Kane et. al. aren't even on the BENCH. NO INJURIES PLEASE!

Can't imagine how Poch sets us up for this, but I hope to see Foyth, Lamela, Georgieu, Edwards, and GKN on or near the pitch!

    Llorente to start!

Would anyone be shocked if he lined up with a full strength squad though?

Not going to guess how we'll line up, but personally I'd like to see at least Lamela starting. I'd say Lorente up top too, if only to give Kane a break, but also could be good for Lorente if he can get himself a goal.

Well of course Llorente. Anyone who needs minutes actually. And Llorente certainly does. Maybe Lamela but I still wouldn't start him. Other than that I'd say KWP and Rose and Foyth and GNK (if GNK doesn't start then he is really in the doghouse). Then our wonderful 3rd string keeper, who's name I've already forgotten lol. Maybe Winks since he has been out a bit. But other than that it should be all juniors. I do doubt this will be it though. I think Pochettino was stung by criticism that he was ducking games. He will probably include some other front line players, but I think it's a mistake.

FFS, if Poch doesn't rest Eriksen, Kane and Alli, im jumping on the Poch out bandwagon.

Lamela cant play, not registered for the group stage. I expect Vorm, Foyth, Sanchez, Aurie, Rose, Winks, Llorente and Sissoko to start. The rest will be filler. Hopefully that includes GKN and Edwards

    What I think we’ll see:

    ————————-Vorm——————————
    —-Trippier—-Sanchez—Foyth——Davies——
    ——————Dier——Winks————————-
    ——Sissoko———Alli—————Son————-
    ————-———-Llorente——————————

What I’m hoping for is we’ll rest Lloris, Jan, Dier, Alli, Dembele, Eriksen, Son, Kane (ideally Winks) & that’s it, however I have a feeling Poch will play a near on full strength team tomorrow night !!!

I would be fuming if we'd play Alli, Dier, Tripps and Davies in this one. Latter ones are quite clearly our no 1 picks for fullback positions and should start in EPL. Dier and Alli are tired to the core, both of them...

I think the team selection will make me absolutely furious to be honest. I doubt Poch has courage to put in 2nd string squad.

    I would pick -

    --------------Vorm-----------------
    Aurier--Sanchez-Foyth-Rose
    ----------------Winks--------------
    -GNK-Sissoko-Son-Grigoriu
    -------------Llorente-------------

I mean in my preference those fullbacks would not play in weekend, so would not hurt to give them playing time.
One main CB is a must, we don't have more viable rotation options than Foyth.
Winks I'd say could benefit from a full game. Might be subbed around hour mark if Poch would like to use him in weekend.
Also if Poch would not think that Grigoriu would be ready to play at this level, just shift KWP to RB and Aurier to LW. But no Eriksen or alikes.

Wait. There is actually a "Poch out" bandwagon?

If Ali plays deeper I can understand it, he needs to see more of the ball and we need more players in that position.

I would even play the tea lady if she"s available in this, she could swop with Sissoko maybe.

...agree that we should rest as many "starters" as possible for this dead rubber...disagree on Tripps/Davies - a fit and focused Rose is light years ahead of Davies (unless he's really on his way out), and Trippier is only useful against the smaller clubs that give us the ball...

Hopefully Dele will play slightly deeper as the role he has been playing further up front is not working.

Only concern is that he is in the habit of seeking fouls and as a result giving the ball away if the ref doesn't award it.

Hope to see how Llorente, Son, sissoko combination up front. That gives us pace, power and finishing. Hopefully Winks, Rose, Alli can provide some decent service.

    4-0 Spurs

    Son x 2
    Dele
    Llorente

Looking forward to seeing how some of the youngsters fair.

I have no problem with Dele playing. Think this game may help him regain some form.

Llorente, N'Koudou & the rest of the squad can break out & kick on the rest of the season.

Still, we must respect the opposition. It's not a meaningless game for them as they want Europa League although highly unlikely.
But they've surprised others in the past.

Did you see the Leicester game ?!?! He was not able to put in anything that would be anywhere near "decent ball" to the box. It is cool and hip to run fast and stuff, but when I compare face-to-face Rose performance against Leicester and Davies performance against Watford, I have little doubt the latter was better.

Saying "light years ahead" is just sticking with the clichee and prejudice. Sticking to past if you will. I understand Rose has been here longer and is English international and so on, but this is irrelevant. Performances is what matters.
For example in first 7 games of this season, Davies was very-very good in each of them, scoring 2 goals and giving 2 assists while in the back we conceded only 4 goals as well. I fail to recall such a productive and consistent form from Rose during his all years in our shirt. And if one says that player is "light years ahead" from such feat, it has to mean that this "ahead" player would have to be undisputedly worlds best LB. Which Rose is not even near....

Rose is doing very well for someone who has been out for as long as he has been though, as much as that seems to disappoint some people.

Poch said yesterday that Dele will start and that Sterling and Amos could be in the squad. I’d like to see Sterling get a chance at maybe 20 minutes or so. Maybe he could be an option later in the year if Llorente doesn’t start scoring now and then.

Dele should play, along with Llorente, Rose, Foyth, Carter Vickers, etc.....gotta give our non-starters more game time.

CCV is on loan at Sheffield United, so I think theres a 99% chance he won't be in the squad today lol

I think KWP should have gotten a run, but other than that it's what I hoped for.

I'd venture a guess that KWP, Sterling, and Amos will get a long 2nd half run.
