AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering knee ligament damage.
The 31-year-old had been due to return to the Milan side to face Parma on Saturday after three weeks out with a hamstring injury, but he picked up the new problem in training on Friday.
A Milan statement read: "Medical tests carried out yesterday confirmed that midfielder Andrea Pirlo had suffered a second grade strain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
"The player's expected recovery time is six weeks."
Pirlo was making a return from a thigh injury when he picked up the hamstring problem against Bari.
He will now miss both legs of his side's Champions League last-16 tie against Tottenham.

Look out for Ibrahmovic and Pato breaking their legs in a horrific baseball bat accident...

Not sure why people think Ronnie is good, losing him is the best thing to happen to Milan in years. Pirlo however will be really missed, but it's probably for the best, as if he did play he would be unfit and Allegri would still play him.

I don't like to see teams lose their players anymore than I like us to have injury problems (and, boy, do we have injury problems!)

Pirlo will be a big miss for Milan!

Not so sure about Ronaldinho though - I'd rather he was still there & playing as he is way past his sell by date!

The form of Ibrahimovitch and Robinho (assuming they are fit) is more of a worry!

    COYS!!!!!

Pirlo's missing is very a bad thing.. About Ronaldinho : lol. He couldn't play this year, it's really good he came back in brasil, luckly we found out Robinho who is doing an EXCELENT work. You should hope Pato won't wake up definetly
