It will be almost 110 years to the day since the Clubs first met back in 1901.

You can see the record here.

This is intriguing, Dave. Please tell us more about the year, nineteen hundred and two.

Believe it or Not. Our near neighbours Hibernians last won the Scottish Cup in 1902. Since then they have had 97 attempts to win it failing miserably every time.

That's a terrible record. 110 next May years without any success at all in the national cup competition? How embarrassing.

And you said that Hearts played Spurs in 1902? What was the occasion there then?

Hmm I sense some gloating! Anyway you Jambos have double the wins we have. We'll have to try to settle the balance.

Dave MacKay played in both those 1956 games, I would imagine He would have made an impression.

    Match report from 1956.

I was at the three Hearts v Tottenham games in the 90s.

The first one in particular was the 'glamour' game, with Gazza and Lineker post-Italia 90.

Now my fellow Hearts fans here is message:

If Wayne Foster can score against a team with those two in it then there is hope for us in 2011.

What this thing about 'when the year ends in '1''?

Or for HMFC - the years 'ends in '6''?
