I don't see a place for Malcom if we already are 5 deep at AM.

Is De Ligt really worth 50M? I mean its slightly more than what we paid for Davinson. Were he and Davinson the preferred CB pairing last year at Ajax?

yes De Ligt and Sanchez were first choice last year, 50 might be about 15 too much but he'll eventually be worth that if he continue to have a good season.

he's also captained Ajax to become to youngest ever to do so in Dutch football history.

I don't follow Ajax, but thought I read this morning that De Ligt didn't start for Ajax until March. If that's true, he and Sanchez didn't play together for more than a couple of months.

In this day of the age in the transfer market £30M gets you an average player what would of been £5M a couple of years ago.... (Obviously not exactly the price difference but you know what I mean)

So the £50M for De Ligt would be for his potential not his actual value at this time.
Example is we bought Sanchez for £42M and less than a year with him in our team his value has rised to around £70M according to the Value Transfer Market.

We should be gunning to sign Martial from United. He's ideal for our system and situation. Capable striker deputy, but also plays in midfield.

Martial would be a quality addition, but I can see it being the first step towards an unhappy team. We need to continue to improve of course. But with Martial shoehorned into the front line there is going to be somebody doing some serious bench time. A symptom of success I guess but it would need to handled carefully.

A bargain is a bargain and if we could get Martial on the cheap we should. But the reality is we don’t need more attacking players right now (when’s the last time we said that?) We’ve got 6 quality guys for 4 positions up front which really is enough, especially since we have the ability to switch to a back 3 if necessary and make that only 3 positions up front.

Our priorities have to be CM and defense.

Anthony Martial is a very good player & if there was a chance of it happening I'd take him.........but........If there was the remotest chance I'd rather have Marcus Rashford.
Another one who the 'special one' uses sparingly & another rumoured to not be happy about it.

I would take Martial over Rashford, but I honestly don't watch ManU very often so not sure. Martial always seems more direct and I think that would suit us better.

De ligt turned into an absolute beast in 2 years on my FM save. That's good enough for me.

I believe his 19th birthday is something like August 20th. Doesn't that mean that if we can get him across the finish line by august then he will be home grown by his 21st birthday? In the Champions League knockout we had to pull Juan foyth to add Erik Lamela because we were out of foreign slots. We are doing great with youth recruitment, but we need to start snagging a couple while they are still able to be home grown. Admittedly 50M is a crazy amount for someone you don't know for a fact will come good, but isnt it worth a little extra be be able to add a player while they can still be home grown?

    • Manchester United will have to offer £40m plus Luke Shaw if they want to sign Tottenham left-back Danny Rose this summer.
    • Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says the club will only sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as a stop-gap while they wait for Harry Kane.

I'd take Shaw and £40m for Danny boy...still think there's a player there in Shaw, who has worked with Poch. Just needs to get him fully fit
