What 3 teams do you guys think pose the most threat to our Spurs for the quarters? AKA the ones you want to avoid the most?

    IMO:
    1. Man Utd.
    2. Barca
    3. toss up: Bayern or Chelsea

This is assuming which teams you think will go through of course.

Bayern's wingers along with ours are the best bar none. Robben-Ribeiry, Bale-Lennon. Seriously, mind blowingly amazing. I think their defense doesn't quite have what it takes though. I'd like to see Barca ass raped by Chelsea or Man U. Each team is allowed to choose one player who just got traded in to play for them in the CL can they not? I'd go with Luiz if they can over Torres if this is how Torres is going to be like the rest of the season.

Luiz is cup tied, teams can add 3 players to their CL squads who havent already played in the CL.......Torres can since Liverpool arent in the CL.

I'll wait to post my teams, once we actually get through to the next round.

The teams to avoid are the EPL ones. They know how we operate. I'm not bothered about the rest, including Barca.

yeah torres really sucks this season! totally agree, they also have great wingers, as good as our wingers i would say. they have better strikers but we have the better defence, would be an interesting final i think :)

I'm uncomfortable talking about who we play next when we haven't gone through yet.

If you get ahead of yourself, you end up with Pompey in the FA Cup last year.

I'd really want to play Man Utd. I really think we can do them.

Look if we go through I want Shakhtar or Schalke for sure. But us going through is not a certainty by any stretch of the imagination. As each day passes from last Tuesday I get more pessimistic.

echo what others have said- the biggest threat to us is AC Milan. And, perhaps Tottenham Hotspur, if my 15 years or so years of Spurs supporting are any indication.

I like to think of myself as a rationalist, but fook it, I'm superstitious about football. Is there any chance we can censor any threads that treat the Milan tie as already won?

    Let's slow down.

Just as an aside, we can't seem to beat Man Utd. Thus it would probably be a good thing avoiding them.

I think the superstition has some validity to it.

Nearly every time we've been written off we've come away with a result

    No one believed...
-we'd finish top 4 last year
-We'd beat arsenal at the emirates
-we'd qualify for the champions league
-we'd qualify for the round of 16
-we'd beat inter let alone top the group
-We'd be able to maintain league form whilst playing in the CL
-we'd beat AC Milan at San siro

the problem comes from when results are expected of us.

-we got spanked by Young Boys away from home. everyone thought they were pushovers.
-we've been beaten by Wolves, wigan and west ham this season after being declared favourites.
-we haven't been able to beat west brom, everton, birmingham this season.

So let's not assume any result is in the bag till the full time whistle has blown...

I know that with this amazing club of ours, that we are not even half way through getting past AC Milan at them moment . . . . . which says a lot considering we are half way through the tie!! Haha!

If we get there first it's got to be...

    Barca
    Real
    United

In almost no particular order, all very dangerous. Okay we looked good against united recently but we still didn't win and the other two... goes without saying. I seriously think we could take Chelsea though, we should have had them beat at our place in the prem if it wasn't for some limp wristed keeping. Bayern would be about even I'd say and you could almost call us favourites against Donetsk and Valencia.

Also my predictions on who is going through by the way... for the very little they're worth!

But compared to the giants mentioned? I don't think so. Shaktar have an excellent team for Uefa Cup contenders, not so much CL.

we have a long way to go to get through, but i'd love to see madrid at the lane. We're gonna have to play a huge club at some point, why not madrid? That could even convince benzema he wants to play for us. Imagine the madrid players flabbergasted walking onto the pitch, taking in the atmosphere at the lane. We are in the champions league to show our mettle, playing the big clubs is what it's all about.
