what do you think our best staring 11 would and should be???
    personally i would go with...

    gomes

    Hutton king (capt) woodgate gunter

lennon big TOM jenas (not as cptain) o'hara/bale?

    campbell Pavlyuchenko

gomes needs the same back 4 week in week out. he dosnt know who is their from 1 week to the next.
big TOM needs to be their for his passing and size.
king needs to have a run in the team reguardless of his injury.. what is the point in having him otherwise??
woody. our best player this season by a mile. but still does silly things though.
gunter maybe young but he is hungry.
lennon on the left for his pace. bentley just hasnt started as yet.
jenas is not the same player with the captaincy!!!
big TOM needs to be their for his passing and size.
o'hara lives and breaths spurs. has the passion. (somthing they all could do with) and good left foot.
lennon on the left for his pace. bentley just hasnt started as yet.
i think the front 2 can really do the job for us. give them a run together in the team.

    subs...
bale. (LEFT WINGER. NOT LEFT BACK. PLAYS TO FAR UP THE FEILD!)
bent. he has the ability to do the job. confidence.
bentley. needs to start earning him money and soon!
gio. young and talented, needed as impact player (for now) last half hpour or so.
modric. another who needs to start earning him money. all a bit new to the boy i think.
sanchez. it was a close call between both keepers

thats it really. think thats the best starting 11 in my oppinion!!

Modric and Jenas in centre midfield? Bentley on left wing? No ball winner in entire midfield. Surely not gonna work.

    -------------------Gomes-------------------

    hutton------corluka------woody------bale

    lennon--huddlestone--modric--o'hara/gds

    ----------------bent----campbell--------------

subs:- Sanchez, King, Gunter, Jenas, o'hara/gds whichever doesn't play, pavylchenko and bentley

(king needs to have a run in the team reguardless of his injury.. what is the point in having him otherwise??) i agree. but apparently he can't play week in week out so theres no point in having him, i like him think hes a good player but the team and espeacially the defence can't gel if its changed everyweek just to accomodate him.
jenas left out untill he shows some improvement
zakora should never play for spurs ever, how he is still at spurs i have no idea, the only thing he can do is win fouls by diving

I can't pick one at the moment but if i was to pick one with every player playing as they should then it would be:

    ------------Gomes------------

    -Hutton-King-Woodgate-Bale

    ------------Zokora-----------

    Bentley --------------- Giovani

    ------------Modric-------------

    -------Pavluchenko Bent------

    ...Pity they are all sh!te.

We don't have a mid-field ball winner on the squad.

    Mackay-------Perryman-----------Waddle--------

    -------------------------------Gazza--------------------------------------

    ---------------------Lineker---------------Klinsman---------------------

    Subs

    Torsvedt, Ginola, hoddle, Blanchflower, Archibald

    squad members

Villa, Ardiles, crooks, hughton, hazard, white, paul allen, dyson, mabbutt, Gilzean.

    hutton ---- king ---- woodgate ----- bale

    ------------Huddlestone -------------

    --------bentley-------- jenas-----------

    lennon ------------------------santos

    --------------bent ------------------

i would try 4 -1 - 4 -1 huddlestone as my d/midfielder ( hes big and this way he wouldnt have to run as much, also his pass is quility ) i would then play a 4 in midfield with lennon and santos just in front of bentley and jenas , making sure lennon and santos knew they had to break forward and support bent. This way when we break forward huddlestone can move in the centre of midfield and just behind jenas and bentley. and when were in defence we have 4 in midfield and huddlestone clearing up anything in between midfield and defence , when we break we would then have pace with lennon and santos and bent , worth a try i think mr ramos

    Gomes
    Corluka - Woodgate - King - Hutton
I'd run a diamond midfield here, as we really don't have a decent winger other than lennon outside Dos Santos, and I want him up front.
    Zokora
    Jenas Lennon
    Modric
    Dos Santos
    Bent

The reason i'd go for this is that currently, our strike force isnt working, and we can't link up play in the final third - this way, we'd play a lot more central with a little less width - lennon making runs down the side to pull defenders out, and creating gaps for santos and modric to link up and get the ball on the edge of the penalty area.

Jenas on the side is a little bit iffy, but i guess that's what the january transfer window is for :)

Now under Harry I would have to say
    ------------------Gomes---------------
    ---Corluka---King---Woody---Bale---

    ---Bentley---------------------Lennon--
    -------------------Modric----------------

i really don't think 442 is the way to go, anymore. we've got to play to our strengths, and that is that we have a bunch of fantastic passers of the ball in midfield, and our weaknesses are that we have **** strikers - i agree with your back 4, just i'd get bent off because he can't hold up the ball and never looks a threat, and replace him with jenas who'd sit alongside hudd behind modric.

i really do think we need a few more players over january though.

get a new keeper,bale/corluka(fulbacks),king/woody(CH),modric,hudd(CM),bentley,Lennon(wings),santos(behind striker)pav as striker. As I've said many times, get a ball winner in midfield fast or play Huddlestone as a holding midfielder.

A 4-3-3 using our superior wing backs and since we don't have a proper left mid.
    --------------------Gomes-------------------
    ---Hutton-----King------Wood------Bale---
    ---------------------Hudd--------------------
    ------------Modric--------Jenas-------------
    ----Bentley/Lennon-------------Gio---------
    ------------------Pav/Bent-------------------

Or if we need to have two up front ie. like against Liverpool in the second half
    4-4-2 diamond

    --------------------Gomes--------------------
    ---Corluka-----King------Wood------Bale---
    ---------------------Hudd---------------------
    ------Bentley/Lennon---------Gio------------
    --------------------Modric---------------------
    ---------------Pav---------Bent---------------

The common theme in both formations is that HUDDLESTONE must play CDM, hes big, an excellent passer and can control game, also he seems to sneak up front sometimes with a powerful shot and if saved usually rebounds, ie. against Arsenal when Bent poked one through.

No offence, but are you Juande in disguise? I mean, Bentley on the left, Modric and Jenas alone in the middle...only difference appears to be places for both Lennon and Gio at the same time.

    My Own Megalomaniacal Ideal;

    -------------Gomes---------------
    Hutton--King---Woodgate--Bale
    ----------Hud---Jenas/O'Hara---
    Bentley---------------------Gio---
    ------------Modric/Pav-----------
    --------Bent/Pav/Campbell------

About what Harry's got 'em in right now. We really need a ball-winner or two to replace Jenas and the Hud, a left back (to move Bale forward) and a more deadly striker. Could replace LB requirement with Kranjcar from Pompey and keep Bale at LB too.

The lack of 'Lennon' is astounding. He has probably been one of our best players this season. When he came on against liverpool he created so many chances and really turned the game in our favour.

I am in split minds about Gio... I really like the kid but just can't see where he fits into the squad at the moment.

We have an extremely unbalanced squad.

Well redknapp wanted 15 millions for him in the summer didn't he? But pompey now have that belhadj who is apparently doing a good job, so they might be more willing to sell.

hmmmmmm 50/50 on whether Bentley should play on right or Lennon on left and vice-versa. Lennon has done awesome though on the left but I can see Bentley playing on the left just as well.

don't see why they can't do what ronaldo and nani/giggs do at man utd, switch flanks during a game, keeps the defenders guesing.
my team if every1 was fit and could play together would be
    gomes
    corluka woody king bale
    bentley hudd modric lennon
    pav bent

but depends if pav and bent can create a partnership like berba and keane did. but also got to take into account eufa cup games where pav and corluka are cup tied, so hutton and jenas come in with a slight change in formation
