Unfortunately Ire and Unit have gone after some behind the scenes happenings. A huge loss to our forum in my view.

I will try very hard to get them back but will wait until the dust settles.

Ski is still around and together with Dorset will hopefully respond to this call.

    That is sad to hear.
They, along with some others, are a big part of this site.
Being summer, I thought they were simply away for hols.
    There are many others like @Don Diaz ; @BlueCrew LA; @Athenspur; @Batman; @pompower; @spursman18; @SpursMadScott etc who haven't been around & I attributed it to summer.
Hope they weren't part of this "behind the scenes happenings" as well.

Right now it is not right to say what went on as I would really like to get them back and do not want to make waves.

He was a good contributor to the forum.
Made for some good reading & debate.
Near the end, I found he got a little prickly with some of his posts that were directed at other forumers.
    Wonder what that was about.

He was unbearable and only visited the site to provoke people with stupid shite. I blocked him forever ago when he insisted the only reason someone could want foreigner Poch over foreigner Van Gaal is because they ... hate foreigners?

The ignore feature on this forum is fantastic, much better than on others I've visited. I completely forgot he even existed.

There were issues near the end of his time here.
Still, he had quite an informed opinion but certain things seemed to get under his skin & consequently he got under others.

It's definitely unfortunate to see some of the losses. While I do think the off season time period plays a role, that's just sort of the nature of forums and online communities. Even some of the longest serving posters and moderators move on. I've been around here a long time and it's happened even here. You hope they're able to return but it doesn't always happen. I still really hope we see some returns here because there are some really great contributors mentioned in this thread.

The one thing that remains constant is the love we all have for the club and for good, productive discussion and debate. The rest will take care of itself. Still enjoy reading the contributions and will undoubtedly be more active once the season begins. COYS!

Could be....Dorset was last seen stockpiling canned food for his eco friendly cardboard nuclear shelter around the same time thfcire was stockpiling Sterling. Mad Scot is busy with his new business printing Scottish passports and for safety reasons WHD was obviously deported because he lives too close to Belgium:thumb:

We mods had to deal daily with the fall out over WHD posts and insults and after several years we took a vote and just pulled the plug.

It wasnt any one particular thing but a build up over many years. Over time he went from being a great contributer to a bitter argumentative insulting curmudgeon.

WHD was one of the better posters. Shame he's gone. Have did seem to become easier to provoke over time, I guess its understandable if he really was causing so much hassle for the mods.

Aye he was. He made plenty of good contributions to the forum over the years. I certainly wouldn't have classed him as a troll. Seems he eventually got to the stage where he provoked others and others provoked him and it got too much. Which as I said is understandable why he'd be gone if he became the common denominator in it all.

WHD's combustion started with Poch getting the job over Van Gaal. Nothing was ever good enough and Van Gaal was also taking a proper battering on here. I felt WHD was trying to get himself banned tbh. A pity but its happened before. Some members hate on managers and it gets to a point where they actually want Tottenham to lose so they can vent and rant.

It will get busy soon. Its been a quiet pre-season and the friendlies these days are pretty innocuous. No 'major' signing either. Not long to go now, though.

I get the feeling, and correct me if I am wrong, that there is a lot of antipathy towards the Dutch among the British. I think WHD felt that way, right or wrong, and understandably it bothered him.

I cant speak for anyone else but i thought he was alright unless you disagreed with him. Then he took it personally. It got to a point where everything was black or white. He either hated something or liked it and it didnt matter what someone did for better or worse, he would never change his opinion. It got a bit tedious in the end. Poch was never praised and you got struck down if you criticised Vertonghen but he never had a bad word to say against him. Its how it was with everything in the end.
    Dave,
