Assuming King and Modric are out i would go with:

    --------------------------Gomes---------------------------
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    Gunter----------Corluka-------Woodgate-----------Bale
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------- ---O'Hara---------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Bentley------------------Jenas-----Lennon/Dos Santos
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------Bent----------Pavlyuchenko

But if King/Modric are available, move Corluka to RB and King at CB.
And put Modric in over Jenas.

Not so sure that having both O'Hara and Modric in the middle of the pitch at the same time is such a good idea. We need a bit more size and presence. Not sure JJ is the answer at this point and Zakora is so flighty that its hard to tell. I would assume that JR is going to want to attack Wigan, therefore I'd go with Modric in the middle and Zakora pressing up in front of the back 4.

If Modric isn't producing, bring on JJ

    I would go for

    --------------------------Gomes---------------------------
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    Gunter----------Corluka-------Woodgate-----------Bale
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------- ---Zokora---------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Bentley------------------Jenas-----Lennon/Dos Santos
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------Bent----------Cambpell-------------

with Payl coming on with about 60 minutes or so to gently breeze him into the game I wish Modric and Hutton were fit as well as King but that I fear will never happen

I agree that this is the way to go, except loose Giovani, he looked disgusting on Thursday, doesn't deserve the start. Plus Lennon seems to really have it together right now, he's in the groove and absolutely dangerous. Def would like to see O'Hara over Zokora, although it seems that O'Hara does his best work when he comes in as a sub??

Whatever, lets smash Wigan and ignite this demon hell ride to the top of the table!

I really like O'Hara, he seems really up for it everytime he plays and that is what we need right now.

Well Lennon and Gio are both impact players in a way, maybe Gio more than Lennon. So starting with Lennon and then bringing Gio on after 60 minutes or so would work well i think, like against Villa, but hopefully to more effect as Wigan aren't as good.

if we play dawson we are screwed no doubt and I think that Bent is hot as he has 3 in 3 and should have 4 in 3 that goal against krakow was disallowed I would like to see cambell start also

Gunter and Corluka at RB and CB over Corluka and Dawson any day of the week.

Dawson is pure liquid fail on the football pitch.

so u think we should drop bent? we all moaned about his price tag myself included saying he was a waste of money but now he has 3 from 3(i know the goal against villa was a fluke but they all count) u wanna drop him and send his confidence back down again! i say keep playing him while hes scoring cause a full of confidence bent can be dangerous!

yeah mate the build up to the goal was lucky but bent still had the hard work to do and he finished it well....isnt it saying somethin about our midfield that we need a lucky rebound to set up our chances? im not trying to start an argument(ive seen too many of those on here recently) but ive tried to defend bents ability for a while now but even tho hes the only one hitting the back of the net for us on a regular basis it seems like the guy just cant get a break from some fans! i say get behind the big man and give him a further boost of confidence! ramos expects the guy to fill keane and berbs boots this season....name me one striker on the planet who can do that single handed!

The thing that gets me with Bent is that he is scoring at the min but if his movement was a little better or just different he would be somthing special as like we'v said he's got all the attributes to rip it up.

His adaptabitity is worying for me as well, route 1 and he is prolific and has proved it......... Anything else and he struggles.

Not knocking him though I did enough of that last season when he got on.

I would try Dos Santos up front with Pavlyuchenko
He has played like that at Barca but Bojan was better

Soz mate he will only get the support of the fans when he is prolific.

    Thats unfortunately how it is!!!

Saving our asses?????????? We'v only got 1 point mate, not doin a great job in the saving of asses dept in my eyes.

That aside its not just his responsibility. The whole team needs to run their fat asses off and grind out results. We need some bite big time, especially tomorrow against a very decent hard playing well organised Wigan.

This will be our toughest test in my eyes. We are expected to beat them at a canter, but their fight and workrate will make it extreemly difficult.

No you dont expect it now, but when the fixtures were released you would have said:-

    Sunderland 3 points
    Borough 3 points
    Chelscum 1 point
    Villa 1 point
    Wiggan 3 points

    I know I did.

Yeah and I'm a firm believer that the minimum you can give is 100% effort and that will do, but at an elite levell it wont do. He does run his ass off but not always in the right directions for me. I would love to see him just play a little more inteligently. He is a one tricker but very good at that trick.

i know wat ur saying mate but at the minute hes doin that trick for us in an effective manner! i cant imagine how he feels having to single handed have to replace the 40+ goals the deserters would have got us! i just wish there was a bit more emphasis on our midfield and start giving the guy a chance! i know wen we dont score it comes down to the strikers but lets face it...im sure u know as well as evry other fan does our midfield is fecking atrocious!!!!

His trick dont involve the midfielders, its a Dawson style hoof into space and he can latch on to it and rattle the net.

We are a trillion miles off topic lads so we will stick a fork in this one for the min. When he gets his hat-trick tomorrow we will crack it open again.

Is he ****, Nosworthy for Sunderland is the worst defender i've ever seen lol. Dawson was our best defender a few years ago, mainly because king was injured and gardner was dog poo.
