He would be Ruud not to…

Could you imagine Ruud Van Nistlerooy in a Spurs shirt? Are we talking about another potential Klinsmann at The Lane? The latest rumours that Real Madrid are prepared to sell Ruud for £1.2 million are startling. After the amount they’ve spent out in the last week, £56 mil on Kaka, £80 on Ronaldo, and the latest rumours are that David Villa is off there as well, it’s surprising that they don’t want more money for one of Holland’s greatest players of all time. Personally, I think it’s just what Spurs need. A 20-25 goal a season clinical finisher to link up with Keane, Lennon and Palacios would go down a treat next season. We could maybe keep Bent and Pavo in the background somewhere for when the old boy needs to rest his feet now and again, he’s is 33. One major problem is that he hasn’t playing since last November due to a knee injury, but surely when he’s back on form he’s be a great asset to any team. But would he come to Spurs? I have my doubts. He’s currently the second highest goal scorer in the Champion’s league with 60 goals, and if he leaves Real Madrid then surely he’ll be looking for Champion’s League football next year. His next move may be his last, and I can’t quite see him hanging up his boots at Spurs. He’s played for two of the world’s greatest teams, Real Madrid and Manchester Utd, so why would he come to Spurs? Harry may think otherwise though. He can offer Van the Man a comfortable position at Spurs, a chance to end his days in London with a regular starting 11 appearance. Ruud just might give it a go. I think we have to act quick though, once he’s on the market he’ll be snapped up quickly. Rednapp has to get a move on. It’ll be a great signing for the club, and one that would make us all happy. What do you think? Would he fit in with the structure and link up with Keane?
