I know this is really far fetched, as him arriving to Real Madrid not even a year ago, and the amount of money it took to get him there. But I got this idea from a transfer blog here in Sweden, although it is just the authors speculation. Now that Real Madrid finally landed Kroos, and James Rodriguez inching closer and closer to a move there too, do you think Isco might end up in the periphery at RM? In that case what a shame, because he’s a good player. I always liked him as a player, and I thought we had a chance of signing him when rumours circulated a couple of years ago, seeing as we ended up 4th (no CL though) and were really hot at the time, and him not being especially talked about as a big-money signing. So if this is the case, that he’s no longer a priority (highly speculative/wishful thinking), would it be impossible for us to pounce? I’m fully supporting Poch, in getting the right players to the club (if he has a say, that is), and Isco might not be right for his system. In that case, fine. Prior to Eriksen arriving, I thought Isco could’ve been the perfect creator in our team, but there’s nothing wrong with two of them. Isco never achieved that superstar status prior to him signing to RM, whereas Kroos and Rodriguez are just that. And we know RM want not just quality, but a big name. So could this be our opportunity to steal one from RM? I know our biggest priorities lie in the defence and attack, but when you see an opportunity, you grab it. If, by any chance, DL sees this, think of the re-sale value of this guy He’s young and in the mould of Mata & David Silva, and you’d want those kind of players in your team.
Would be fantastic, but it would also be some feat if we signed him. We had a chance when Malaga were in financial trouble, but now the whole world’s seen what he can do. He price would probably be 35-40 million considering his age and talent and I don’t see us paying that when we have to spend again on a LB and possibly CB and striker too. Don’t forget Real Madrid probably aren’t kindly disposed to Levy after he took them for all they’re worth and made them take down the Gareth Bale ceremonial unveiling stage. That said, with Eriksen on the left we do lack creativity centrally, I’m sure he could fit the team (he’s like a younger better Lallana in some ways so Poch might be happy). I think I’d rather spend the money on the more pressing areas and trust that Eriksen, Lamela, Holtby etc can provide enough creativity.
I’d love it. But if we’re signing midfielders I’d rather Schneiderlin or a deeper playmaker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I kind of forgot about him, but the little I saw of him last season was that he was more of the "winger-playmaker" mould, which I really like. I’m feeling really optimistic about Lamela. Although, maybe it’s because of the language barrier and culture shock, but is he a bit of an introvert? I’m judging that form his introductory interview at Spurs TV and other general photos/videos. I just hope he really "dare" to express himself on the field. And I hope Holtby gets a chance. Because those three are our main (only?) creative players at the moment. And no, the chance that he’ll come to us is really slim. I just figured there might be a little situation of which we may possibly exploit, if he’s no longer the priority in his position, or in the squad altogether. So hopefully he’s unsettled, heh. But he is a great player though, so RM would go against all logic if they were to sell him already. But yes, as I mentioned as well, we do have other pressing matters that need resolving. Other than those, I’m feeling pretty optimistic about our squad and can’t wait until Poch’s system is fully implemented.
Won’t happen. Our special relationship that levy got during the Modric deal involves us producing talent, them buying and strengthening are biggest rivals. We are allowed to be linked with their players but only to increase interest so they get more money..
I brought the potential Isco move up earlier today as well. I also think people are hyping him out of our reach a bit prematurely. He averaged 60 minutes per game last season far from a certain starter now with Kroos joining his minutes will be decreased further and even more if Rodriguez joins up. A potential loan + option to buy + option to repurchase for RM would be ideal for all three parties and it is quite common practice for RM to do these sort of deals.
Madrid don’t operate very sensibly now….. so the fact that he came in only a year a go doesn’t mean much. All the same it’s a tricky situation as he was largely pushed out of the line up last year as the campaign progressed along(for tactical reasons apparently). It will be difficult to say how much time he will get till all the pieces settle there, what happens to Di Mari, Khedira etc. but it doesn’t look good for him. He’s extremely talented, it’s fair to ask how he would potentially fit in our squad, but at the same time you don’t turn away talent like that. I can see a loan or a buy back option type arrangement….and lo n’ be hold….seems like Milan is some how inexplicably linked to him….for a loan. Now there is a special relationship for you lads.
I thought there was a credible link for us getting Isco… isn;t this sort of stuff supposed to go into the transfer wishlist thread
They already spent £45Mil on two wide CAM’s in Markovic and Lallana and still have Coutinho and Sterling who are better then the players they purchased.
You’re right, just wishful thinking/just thinking. It dawned on me when I hit "Post". Appreciate it if a mod could move it or whatever!
€27 million. Definitely not free, but not a too crazy price tag considering his quality and age. Using my converter app (not sure how reliable/updated that is), that’s the equivalent of £21.37 million. In terms of Real Madrid business, that’s pretty cheap! Illarramendi cost €32.2m (£25.49m). Yep…,by the time the window ends it will be 100 pages long and @thfcire will be banning everyone who mentions Isco after page 75
But will he realistically get enough games next season with James, bale, Ronaldo, benzema and kroos where he can play? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Isco would be pretty much at the top of my list for players the we should go balls out for. It’s probably not realistic, but if I were Levy, I’d be smashing the piggy bank and calling in whatever favours he has. We desperately need someone who actually likes playing on the left who can create and score. Isco fits the bill. It’ll probably never happen though.
