hopefully with both ledders and woody on their last legs harry will show faith in caulker instead of going out and buying players, he has the potential to be a top class CB by the sounds of it

Well, Andros is on his way back to us early from his loan at Ipswich. I think Jake is staying there tho &, considering Andros was actually getting games there, that is a little ominous in terms of Livermore’s Spurs career.

I would be the one against this, it makes no sense to recall them just to play in 1 game when some of them are playing week in week out and progressing very well. Right now if I had to say who do I see making it out of our youngsters I’d say about 4 or 5 just from what I’ve seen/read.

You better believe it mate! The club know what a quality player Caulker will be, which as I’ve said in different threads in 2 seasons time when King/Woody/Gallas have left Caulker will come in at such a great time for us.

Kyle Walker was involved in the match of the weekend in the Championship.

The defender played the full 90 minutes again for QPR but could do little as his side fell to a 2-0 defeat against Leeds United in front of almost 30,000 fans at Elland Road.

Max Gradel scored a goal in each half as Leeds moved up to second in the table.

And defeat means after going unbeaten in their opening 19 matches, QPR have suddenly lost in successive weeks.

However, they still top the table by three points with a game in hand and Kyle has now played 16 times.

Spurs team-mates Jake Livermore and Kyle Naughton were involved in Saturday’s most talked about match as Ipswich played host to Leicester City in the early evening kick-off at Portman Road.

Ipswich, desperate for a win after six-straight defeats, raced into a 3-0 lead in the snow and there were fears the match might be abondoned when the teams were taken off 10 minutes into the second half.

However, the officials cleared the lines on the pitch, the match restarted and Ipswich held on for that 3-0 win. Kyle played 90 minutes for the Foxes, Jake came off the bench after 70 minutes for Ipswich.

Steven Caulker and Danny Rose both had decent efforts on goal but couldn’t prevent Bristol City suffering a 2-0 loss at Hull City.

Steven swept a shot from 16 yards just over while Danny warmed the fingers of Tigers keeper Vito Mannone in the second half as a goal in each half from Jay Simpson saw the home side to the three points. John Bostock remained an unused substitute for Hull.

Steven was earlier confirmed as winner of the npower Football League Young Player of the Month.

Jon Obika didn’t feature as Crystal Palace lost 3-0 at Nottingham Forest.

In League One, the matches involving David Button (Plymouth), Adam Smith (Bournemouth) and Paul Jose M’poku (Orient) were all postponed.

Meanwhile, Andros Townsend has returned to the club from his loan spell at Ipswich Town.

the bold players wont be here past the summer, at least imo.

you can put Calum Butcher next to Caulker and Kudus Oyenuga upfront with Kane

Mirko Ranieri in goal……..we certainly do have a lot of potential.

BBC Sport – Football – Winger Andros Townsend returns to Tottenham

Ipswich Town have terminated the season-long loan spell of Tottenham winger Andros Townsend.

The 19-year-old featured 16 times after making the switch to the Championship side in August.

Townsend, who scored once and received one red card for Town, played in only three of their last six games.

Manager Roy Keane told the club website: "Andros has not had the minutes on the pitch that he needs lately so has gone back to Tottenham."

Ipswich’s five other loanees – Rory Fallon, Jack Colback, Gianni Zuiverloon, Jake Livermore and Darren O’Dea – are all set to return to their parent clubs in January.

Left winger, somewhat similar to Danny Rose in characteristics of his playing style.

i think andros has proven himself at championship level, he either needs to stay with us and try and break into our side or go to a smaller premier league club e.g. blackpool on loan to prove himself at premier league level

Does anyone know, maybe brizzlefan, whether Caulker was playing in midfield for City the other night against Reading? I saw his superb little chip for Bristol’s goal &, from what I saw, it looked as tho he was playing too high up the pitch for a CB in general.

If he was playing as a midfielder, how did he do?

He’s like the right back version of Aaron Lennon.

no he wasnt playing as a midfielder he was on a run which he does reguarly and causes other teams defences problems. caulker was yet again outstanding today playing with his 4th defensive partner this season. rose came on with about 15-20 mins left and for the first time this season looked to go outside the defender and put a few decent crosses in.

Seen Walker a few times this season hes had a couple of good games, fast but not sure defensively and not good enough for your first team. Hutton is much better. OK for the Championship thats about all. Might be willing to consider him if Rangers go up, you can have Tarrabat back as well greedy bugger

    Loan Update from THFC

Kyle Walker picked up the Man of the Match award in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Tuesday as QPR extended their lead at the top of the Championship table.

The England Under-21 defender was in fine form and caught the eye with his bursts up and down the right flank.

He created QPR’s opener when he beat his man, got to the byline and fired in an effort to the near post that Coventry keeper Kieran Westwood could only palm into his own net. Tommy Smith secured the 2-0 win at the Ricoh Arena.

That made it two wins, two clean sheets and a maximum six points for Kyle over over Christmas after QPR beat Swansea 4-0 on Boxing Day to top the Championship by seven points going into 2011.

Spurs team-mates Jon Obika and Steven Caulker came face-to-face for a few minutes as Bristol City drew 1-1 against Palace on Tuesday.

Striker Jon entered the fray as a late substitute with his Palace side 1-0 up but it was the third Spurs loanee on show who helped City grab a late, late equaliser.

Danny Rose came off the bench in the 76th minute and was upended by Palace goalkeeper Julien Speroni, allowing fellow substitute Brett Pitman to slot home from the spot for a 1-1 draw.

The news wasn’t as good for the Robins on Boxing Day. Steven played the full 90 minutes again and Danny played 82 minutes in a 4-1 defeat at Reading. Steven played his part in his side’s goal, his fine effort came back off the crossbar and Jon Stead tapped home the rebound.

Kyle Naughton had mixed fortunes with Leicester City. The full-back played 90 minutes as his side battled back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Leeds on Boxing Day before another full shift but a 2-0 loss at Millwall on Tuesday.

Kyle had the Foxes best effort at the Den, his low drive just wide in the first half.

In League One, David Button played in Plymouth’s 1-1 draw against Notts County on Tuesday and Adam Smith was in the Bournemouth line-up in a 2-0 loss at MK Dons.

Meanwhile, John Bostock has returned to the club from his loan spell at Hull City. The midfielder made 11 appearances for the Tigers including eight starts and scored two goals.

Looks like Bostock was a disappointment which I saw in a few games, while Walker continues to impress as we’ve seen all season.

He is quality, the manager at Hull Nigel Pearson has a knack for being a defensive manager so perhaps thats why Bostock had so many appearances on the bench. I would definitely like to see him get a chance here with us, just dont know when that’ll happen.
