He was playing all the way to the final of the confederations-cup and after that had to deal with leaving and his goodbye at Corinthians and than travel to London to sign the contract and stuff, so he got an extended break.
True, but a Paulinho that’s already tired even before the season starts isn’t going to help much either. Would have been ideal if he went with pre-season indeed, but with the confederations-cup going all the way to the final for Paulinho, he needs his break more.

He’s probably better off doing nothing at all and just resting on some beach enjoying the sun. I understand that everyone is eager to see Paulinho in action, but a proper vacation is probably what benefits him most.

Probably but I’d wager that he has plenty to see to getting settled with his family in a new contitent.
The season in Brazil is different, we start here in January and go all the way to december… the break for the teams and players is in December.. if Paulinho did not have this break now, he would play straight to next june.
