Vorm for making some good stops although i thought he was half hearted on the first goal. Wanyama and Lamela for giving us a glimmer of hope with some better quality.

No issue with the performance. We could have been beaten 8-1 but youre not going to get a great deal out of that side. Carroll and Onomah are League 1 players at best. Winks never had anyone to pass to. Dier didnt look interested, nor did Wimmer. Both fullbacks struggled to have any impact. Janssen was doing too much chasing in the wrong places at the wrong time. Too clumsy with the ball. Not sure what N’Koudou was meant to be doing.

Poch gets it in the neck again for this one. You cant go to Anfield and play that XI. Its a load of bollox. May as well had played Wanyama and Lamela from the start. I get we need to rotate but their team was a perfect blend of rotating. Klopp owned Poch tonight. Although Klopps kids were far better than ours as well.

Next season it might be best we ring the opposition up and tell them we cant field a team. Save 3,000 fans wasting £50 quid each.

Basically i felt our mindset was that its ok to lose. Fook it.

And thats what upsets me most! Its not a playground! You are only successful if you win trophies and that was a good chance wasted

    Vom
    Winks
Carter-Vickers (hey, he’s a young lad and was up against some top quality strikers. Thought he put in a good performance all things considered)

I don’t think we did care an awful lot about staying in this competition. It’s the least-illustrious competition we’re in. Winning anything is obviously great, but the things we’d like to win, in order, would probably look like:

    Champions League
    Premier League
    FA Cup
    EFL Cup

I went for Vorm and Winks only. No one else worth a vote. Carroll, Onomah and N’Koudou were dreadful – none of these three looked like they had ever seen a football before. I hate to say this, but, other than penalties, I just cannot see Janssen scoring, his work rate cannot be faulted, but he is deadly slow and when he gets in front of goal his body shape just looks all wrong. Maybe it is just his confidence that is shot to pieces and he will eventually start scoring, but I’m not holding my breath.

Again, i have no problem with that. Its pretty obvious anyway but you cannot go to Anfield and put that team out. Infact i’m shocked how some players get a contract in the first place.

Anyway, last season we did the same at Dortmund. Which was odd considering we had played a lot of first teamers against the utter dross in the league stage. So with a month to go, we are out of all competitions and look what happened to us in the league. A losing mentality can be poison.

Anyone sawthe result and not the performance must have thought the game was close. They battered us simply because they played a few of their better players. We could have played 2 or 3 easily and left them out of Leicester. Afterall, there are 3 or 4 who dont deserve to play v Leicester anyway.

Sorry but i see no justification in throwing a game. Obviously not in the sense of cheating but we had no chance of going through. The paying supporters deserve a lot better than that for starters.

Anyway, its done now. The nest talking point is some players that are on the books that didnt do themselves a lot of favours last night.

Bottom line is that this trophy is the fourth priority. BUT, if I was Trippier, Davies, Carroll etc, I would have bust my ar$e off to make sure we won the game, so that we would get more games to play in the season. They did not. I Like Poch a lot. I watched West ham go out tonight full strength and win. Same for United. Now they have a chance. We didn’t and I understand why, but why risk Dier? Where was Edwards? You either go out to lose, or not. But here’s my biggest beef. I just watched Schalke Vs Mainz and Bentaleb was fabulous and even scored a goal (that’s 2 in 2) Why was he not on the pitch for us, and Carroll was? Bentaleb is 10x the player Carroll ever will be. So is Holtby. So is Mason. I am not saying those players are first team regulars (though I do think Bentaleb has all gifts needed), they are all better than Carroll. Weird. NOW FOCUS on the last 3 options for silverware.
