One of the most key players for them today and according to Hull’s website Pearson had to say this about him "Pearson had words of praise for both Bostock and Ashbee, and not just for their goals. "I thought John did very well. I don’t like players getting booked for taking their shirts off, but I fully understand how excited he was and it was a fabulous strike. "In many ways he was the difference because players who can produce that moment of brilliance win you matches. He showed both sides of his game and he worked exceptionally hard." David Button- Kept a clean sheet for Plymouth vs Southampton today. Oscar Jansson- Didn’t have the best of days losing in his debut with Northampton Town 3-0 to Torquay.

Where you located? Yeah I think we’ll have about 6 or 7 of them out playing……Caulker is off to Leeds but I believe from what I’ve heard from ITK’s that were keeping Townsend (even though Southampton have asked about him)
Richmond is where I am at. Know these "itk’s" from speeddial? I am not sold on Townsend just yet, I haven’t seen enough of him to make a decision. However, as much as I would like to see Rose get more PT this year, I would rather see him go to Bolton or another PM team. BTW, I’m the same guy over on that other Hotspur place on the net.
ah right ole ole, thought i recognized your name but thought you were from Georgia for some reason. There is one ITK that is highly regarded (you’ll hear otherwise from some lads on here) but I believe his input. Townsend is going to be very very good, if you read that one post about him on ole ole I agree 100% with that post (it was about 2 weeks ago). He needs to develop and I think playing in the FA/CC will do him good as well as the odd PL game. I think Rose has what it takes as well, he can play numerous positions which only helps his cause to push for a first team place. It’s very exciting when you look at all of our potential in the youth set up.
Yeah, the most impressive thing about Rose is the attitude. I think he genuinely wants PT, and that has covered 4 different positions, LB, LM, RM, and CM. I remember him saying that his favorite position is CM. I did read that about Townsend a couple of weeks ago, however I will hold my judgement till he plays quality opponents. He does have a good positional sense, but that can be tricky to see on the tele, but you did go to NYC didn’t you?
I think collectively the young players we have coming through that are on the fringe of getting into the squad on a regular basis all have a great attitude, Bostock seemed to be the odd man out but he sounded like hes got his head down after the Hull game today. I’d like to see Rose down the left but I guess Harry will have to sort him out with the more games he gets. Looks like a fun trip. I saw your fotos earlier, and the vid with Bale. Good stuff. Back to the loan debate, after thinking about this today, we may have many many games ahead of us if we happen to make the group stages. I think HR is looking to keep some of the younger ones around to play against "weaker" teams and cups and get some good first team experience. I liken it to how SAF does it at Manure. He has good young players that he sends out on loan, but he always has 2-3 that just seem to be around the first team and get PT. Ie, the da Silva twins, Obertan, etc. It would be nice if we fell into that kind of position where we have gifted youngsters, which I believe we do, who get game time often. To the point where they are pushing for spots in first XI. Rose falls into that category I believe, as does Walker, he looked good in the pre-season, very quick. I am still waiting to see Mason play, read that he has an incredible first touch and a knack for scoring goals from CM/AM. We will see how it goes in the next few weeks, doesn’t the season long loan period end at the transfer window?
I like your reference to SAF, I think him and Wenga are the only two managers who can get away with playing youth in cup competitions (or the bravest ones to try them out like that) We have the same sort of abundance in youth and we have picked up some very good youth players over the past 3 to 4 years so hopefully some get a chance this season. However, I think Harry would rather have these lads go out on loan and play week in and week out to gain some experience, which is the same reason why he scraped the reserve team. I think that we should keep Rose, Townsend, and maybe 1 more (Parrett) but this depends on who we bring it. I think Walker and Naughton have both pushed themselves as squad players so I dont see them going out on loan. Ive seen Mason play only once and that was against SJ Earthquakes but only play for about 20 mins, he is very highly rated at the club so hopefully he can get out and get some experience as well. I’m not sure when the season loan period ends but im guessing its at the end of the window. Sooner or later these kids have got to be given a chance to play but its all about timing so hopefully they get some time before they decide to move on.

Little round up of the weekend for the young lads David Button earned the praise of Plymouth manager Peter Reid after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Carlisle in League One. The goalkeeper produced a stunning save to turn away former Leeds and Republic of Ireland full-back Ian Harte’s free-kick before his side found a last-minute equaliser at Home Park. Fellow loanee Dean Parrett made his debut for the Pilgrims, entering the action at half-time. "It was a great save," said manager Peter Reid. "I know Harte from when I had him at Leeds and when he stepped up, I feared the worse. "It was a terrific save because it had plenty of dip on it. The kid looks as though he’s got a chance of being a top keeper." Staying with our goalkeepers out on loan, Oscar Jansson kept a clean sheet as Northampton Town drew 0-0 against Accrington Stanley in League Two. In the Championship, Andros Townsend and Ryan Mason enjoyed promising debuts for Ipswich Town and Doncaster respectively. However, the pair suffered differing emotions as their teams drew 1-1. Andros created the best chance of the first half for Jon Stead after a typical dart down the right at Portman Road before testing Burnley keeper Brian Jensen after a run and shot on target. He eventually departed after 72 minutes and saw his side take a 1-0 lead a minute from time – only for Burnley to equalise in injury time. Ryan started in midfield for Doncaster against Bristol City and soon had England’s World Cup keeper David James scrambling for a 25-yarder that curled inches wide. He left the action with five minutes remaining and his side trailing 1-0 – this time though, unlike Andros, he was left celebrating a last-minute goal as Billy Sharp levelled from the penalty spot. John Bostock went from high to low with Hull in the Championship. After scoring a cracker to help beat Swansea on his debut last week, the midfielder found himself on the end of a 4-0 defeat at Millwall. He played the full 90 minutes.
Nice work Spursman. I was trying to follow the Doncaster and Ipswich games but it is tough reading texts. Hard to get a good feel as to how our loanees are doing. I am hoping one of our guys is on the game of the week for the Championship so I can see them play. Nott Forest was on today, Gunter had quite a stomp on an Arse loanee. Not that I condone it, but does he have a little hatred towards Le Arse?
Looked at the FSC Plus schedule for the rest of the month and unfortunately no teams are on that have our young ones in them. I’d figure Gunter (being an ex Yid) would have some hatred for Le Arse. I’m waiting to hear Caulker going out to Leeds since they were on TV again today.
Well crap. I looked two weeks in advance and didn’t see any games either. I am sure over the course of the season we will get to see a few games. I will just have to settle for slow texts and game summaries to see how our yids are doing.
I’m not being funny, but too many PL clubs are dumping their young English players in the championship and importing foreign players for big money. We need to play them in the first team. The England manager won’t have enough good youngsters to build a team playing at a high level. It’s not good for the future of England. The FA need to get their finger out…!

The 19-year-old follows former Spurs midfielder Edgar Davids in signing a deal with The Eagles on Friday after the ex-Holland international came out of retirement to agree a pay-as-you-play deal. Obika spent the second half of last season on loan at Millwall and helped the club to promotion to the Championship as he built first-team experience in the Football League. The forward has also had a temporary stay at Yeovil Town, where he made 35 appearances and scored 11 goals. Obika has made two first-team appearances for Tottenham, with the outings coming during Spurs’ 2008/09 Uefa Cup campaign. Palace have also signed Ipswich striker Counago, 31, on a season-long loan deal, but he will not be available to face his former club on Saturday.
David Button and Dean Parrett played 90 minutes each as Plymouth lost 2-1 to Walsall yesterday. Plymouth site report: The warning signs were not heeded and, suitably encouraged, Walsall fashioned an equaliser when what appeared to be a communications breakdown between Krisztián Timár and Button resulted in Reid hanging up a cross to the far post that Marshall looped back across the Argyle goalkeeper. The normally sure-footed Johnson gave the ball away in midfield, allowing Reid to run in on goal and, despite his shot from 10 yards being shovelled, rather that struck, the ball somehow beat Button. Peter Reid on Button: Reuben Reid’s winner seemed to catch goalkeeper David Button by surprise, and Peter Reid said: "I think it went in soft. "I don’t like criticising individuals, but, from where was I thought ‘It’s gone in too easy, that one’." …and Parrett: "Rory had the best chance of the game. He jumped for the ball and it was naive if anything. He plays for Spurs, he’s not a dirty player. "If one of my players deserved to be sent-off, I’d say it. From our official site Andros Townsend experienced the highs and lows of football in the space of 15 minutes at Crystal Palace on Saturday. The flying winger was heavily involved in the move that led to Carlos Edwards putting his loan side Ipswich Town 2-0 up in the second half of the Championship encounter at Selhurst Park. Unfortunately, Andros was then sent off for a high challenge on Palace goalkeeper Julius Speroni. Palace had already seen a man red carded as well so it ended 10 against 10 and Roy Keane’s men held on for a 2-1 victory. Jon Obika, on loan at Palace, came on for his debut as a substitute in the 75th minute. Ryan Mason felt the full force of the Craig Bellamy factor as his loan team Doncaster travelled to Cardiff City in the Championship on Saturday. It was the Wales international’s debut for his home-town team and he certainly lived-up to the hype of his loan move from Manchester City, setting up a goal before scoring a spectacular free-kick in Cardiff’s 4-0 win. Tottenham Youngster Danny Rose Set For Loan Exit – Report Aug 23, 2010 3:26:00 PM Tottenham are set to release Danny Rose on loan so the youngster can gain more first team experience, according to The People. Rose, 20, burst on to the scene with a goal of the season contender against Arsenal in April. Despite the thunderbolt, the England under-21 international’s path to the match day squad has been blocked by more established stars. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has now earmarked Rose for a temporary spell in the Championship. He will hope for a better time in the division after being consigned to the sidelines during a temporary switch to Peterborough United last term.
This is some pretty interesting/ funny news about Obika and what else is going on at palace with Davids "Right. Got a bit of minor spurs information. Nothing about transfers. A mate of mine plays for crystal palace. Been charting to him obika. Says the boys got some good talent. Scored a hatrick for the reserves the other day and looks amazing in training. My mate says that once he settles he could perform very well in the palace first team. Just needs his confidence boosted. Now to something funny. David’s is installing alot of discipline at the club. During training if u are on the same team as him and u make a mistake, prepare to get bollocked. He has even picked up the ball and stopped the game to ask players what they were thinking and then tells them what they should b doing. After the Pompey loss a few of the lads were laughing and joking in the changing room. David’s then said to them," did we win or lose tonight?" one of them replied "lose" to which he then said " well shut up then and it isn’t funny!" My mate says try don’t know what has hit them. Some other funny stuff is that they keep finding him doing kick ups in the shower and he spends an unusual amount of time soaping his arse. So much in fact it’s like he’s massaging it. Thought I’d share this with u all for a giggle. When I speak to him next I’ll update u!"
Harry was quoted yesterday saying something along the lines. "if these kids aren’t good enough to play for Hull, Plymouth or Ipswich, then they haven’t a hope of playing for Spurs." So i went on the respective clubs forums and i doesn’t look to good for our lads. Not setting the world alight. Dean Parrett was getting absolute pelters from the Argyle fans, which is surprising as i thought he was excellent for the U-19’s and would continue that form on loan.

And he played his part as his new side ended Carlisle’s nine-match unbeaten record. Bournemouth were already 1-0 up when Adam outfoxed Francis Zoko in the box and was chopped down for a penalty. Michael Symes scored from the spot for a 2-0 final scoreline. Staying in League One, Dean Parrett was an unused substitute in Plymouth’s 1-1 draw against Rochdale. In the Championship, Danny Rose almost helped carve out an unlikely winner for Bristol City after they’d been under pressure at Burnley. Danny’s cross found its way to Jon Stead, who forced a fine save from Brian Jensen. Kyle Walker played 90 minutes as QPR maintained their 100 per cent home record with a 3-0 win against Doncaster at Loftus Road. Andros Townsend was substituted at half-time and Jake Livermore an unused substitute as Ipswich Town drew 1-1 at S****horpe. John Bostock was also an unused substitute as Hull won 2-0 at Norwich. Hmm, Bostock being an unused sub doesnt sound good…he’s been playing regularly for them and has been coming off after 60 or so minutes in the last couple of games.

Obika has been injured since September 20, he’s back at the club now getting treatment on a groin strain. I would believe he’d go back to Palace once he’s fit again. Been reading up about Caulker and a Yeovil supporter had this to say about him last year Yeovil fan here. Joined your board as interested to see how you regard Steven and how he progresses with you. You need have no worries regarding his ability to play at CCC level. I am confident that within a few games he will be one of the 1st names on the teamsheet. Played 45 games with us last season and he has all the qualities needed in a defender. Very quick,can play off both feet,strong,powerful in the air,always seems to have time on the ball,can play out of defence and mentally is a strong and composed character belying his age who plays the game hard but fair. For us it was a privilege to see the start of a playing career that all at Yeovil expect to see grow to full England international level within 2/3 years.
DATED SEPTEMBER 6 Oscar Won’t Get Liverpool Chance Cobblers boss Ian Sampson has decided not to renew goalkeeper Oscar Jansson’s loan deal and has returned to Spurs. Jansson made six appearances all together in a Cobblers shirt and was one of the top performers when Northampton faced Reading in the Carling Cup second round. Jansson saved Reading’s first penalty from Simon Church, the Cobblers eventually going on to win 4-2 on the night, and set up a third round trip to Anfield. With Chris Dunn returning in goal, Jansson’s wages will now free up some room for Sampson to sign a much needed striker or two upfront, after Tadhg Purcell will now miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. The latest striker to be linked with a move to Sixfields has been former Tranmere Rovers front man Bas Savage, who was training with the team last week. On Jansson returning to Spurs, Cobblers manager Ian Sampson told the official website, ‘I would like to thank Oscar for his hard work and commitment and I would also like to thank Harry Redknapp for allowing us to borrow him,’ he said. ‘He did very well for us and helped us out while Chris was injured. Chris is now fit again and has done well in the last two games.
